Im honestly not trying to be a downer, but ill reserve more judgement on tommys play until after he plays someone with more of a pulse.

  3. Two things: Northwestern, not a walk through, just in case anyone think so. Two: who's the RB with the bulk of the carries today? I like Wilbon a lot, I'd like to see more.

      Yeah, where is Adam Taylor?

I think if we could find a mix of Wilbon and either Cross or Taylor we will be just fine. Wilson is the best of the bunch though.

Count me in that group. Taylor needs to get a shot.

I've got Oregon by about 10. MSU doesn't impress me.

I have Oregon by 3. High scoring affair. MSU secondary is bad. So is Oregon's.

  5. Cardale Jones was 9/18!?! That's only 50%!!!! Fire Beck! Fire Urban! Fire in the disco, Fire in the Taco Bell.....

What I want to know is why Cardale Jones keeps starting fires. Maybe it's just his desire.

  6. Zaire Anderson was signed to the Broncos practice squad yesterday. Congrats to ZA! I always thought he was a good one.

He should have played more here. A LOT more.

      Ugh....I know.

  7. I think you learn some things about your team in the first few weeks of the season, that you couldn't possibly learn from them in fall practice . We happened to open that first weekend under a new staff, with a pretty stout BYU team. I guarantee these coaches and players learned a lot. Difference is, with this staff, i expect them to diagnose the things they can do better, and implement a realistic plan to fix those things.

  8. Don't let the loss hide the fact that we looked freaking awesome at times yesterday. A lot of good stuff to build on.

Oh, I understood that. I thought yesterday was pretty ugly around here. A lot of people I haven't seen make a comment in a long time came back to point out any possible negative thing they could find. Its pathetic. That's all I was saying.

Well, at least there's been a lot less blatant "We shouldn't have fired Bo" sentiments flying around than I feared. We'll have to see tomorrow when I get back to the real world...

  11. It's football. If you don't block, you're screwed.

  12. Looks like we better continue to work on snapping th football.

  13. BYU are gonna need Mor-men if they think theyre gonna beat Nebraska. Get it? Mor-men. Mormon. Ba-dum-tssh.

  16. According to Mike Welch, Mike Riley is having a hard time disguising his excitement for Tommy Armstrong this year. Time to shut up the doubters.

I think the kid is the real deal. Always have thought so. I've just thought he's been in a bad situation with Beck as OC, and a porous offensive line. I expect the line to get better under Cavanaugh and I think Langsdorf and Riley are far beyond Beck as offensive minds. No excuses for Tommy not to excel.

    4. ZRod

      ZRod

True enough. I like his swagger and guts, I just don't know if he's got anything that can make him more than a game manager that can run the ball. I hope he does, and like you said he's got the coaches to get him there if it's in him.

  17. Bo Pelini to Illinois? That'd be awesome. Just to have Mike Riley and the Huskers hand Bo his ass on one fine Saturday a year. I would find a lot of pleasure in that.

I told you Lux, my name is Fans McGee. I let it Bo along time ago. I don't post anonymously. Anybody that feels like they need to know who I am, I'll gladly tell them. I'd like to think I'm pretty far from being a pu&&y.

If you're still this wound up about the situation you need to go tell it to his face oh great keyboard warrior, we who have moved on are tired of reading about it. You havnt let it Bo, not even close.

      True2tRA

      Wound up? Nah.

Keyboard warrior? I don't knmow what that is but it sounds cool.

We have moved on? Who is we? I still find Pelini and the last seven years of Nebraska football highly relevant. If you don't like reading it, then don't.

  20. I know it's been said over and over again, but I'm gonna say it again. MAN I LIKE LISTENING TO THESE COACHES EXPLAIN THIS PROCESS! I've been watching that video sidebar on the Huskerboard front page more than I ever have in the past.

I think most coaches hide behind coach speak. Riley and Banker seem to be rare exceptions. Banker acts like he's out in his garage shooting the sh#t with his buddies when he talks to the media.

  21. Name 1 position group you are most worried about heading into this football season. Doggy style is not a position group.

  22. Get my first taste of Broncos football tonight. Yea, it's pre-season, I know. New coaches, new system, first chance to check it out. Gonna watch for ZA too.

Offensive line is going to be a huge question mark for them this year.

    3. True2tRA

      True2tRA

When the offensive line struggles, Peyton Manning is useless.

    4. suh_fan93

      suh_fan93

Denver is one of those teams that always seems to have a pretty good offensive line. I don't follow them devoutly but it always seems like their lines are always pretty good.

  23. The great thing about experience in any aspect of life, coaching included, is that a lot of these guys have seen it all. They've experienced just about every scenario a coach could probably see. It helps the adjustment process. They know all the options, they know what changes to make, the plan is never unclear.

    1. TonyStalloni

      TonyStalloni

And they understand the concept of making in game adjustments. They won't tell the players if they just perform it will work.
