Bob Stoops and Bo Pelini publicly called out the SEC as overblown before the season. Both have the only bowl wins over SEC teams this year. Nice job Bob and OU. He caught hell and was mocked on ESPN radio most of the day today. He backed it up.

Call me overconfident, but I keep having visions of Colorado 1992 running through my head. Anyone remember that night? We had a freshman qb named Tommie then too, against a defense stacked to the hilt with future NFL players. I'm one of them "history repeats itself" guys, and that night, Colorado ran into to a fricken buzzsaw. I have this weird tingly feeling as Saturday draws nearer that our worst times may finally be behind us.

Conversation I had with a perennial Bo-hater. The subject came up on developing talent. I mentioned what was Suh before Bo came in. His response was the quote above in regards to Clowny. He's a smart one. Same guy who told me after the 2011 season that Bo was gettin fired and we were bringing in Chris Petersen. That was in Feburary. Guy's a doozy for sure.

Co worker says "if Mayans were so smart on predicting things, why arent they still around?" They didnt predict anything. They made a calender. Is the guy that made the calender for 1904 still alive?

That's not entirely true. There are certain prophetic bits attached to parts of the Mayan calendar, especially the katuns. But yes, they did not make any predictions about the end of this long count, even though previous long counts were believed to end with a catastrophe and the rebirth of humanity.

The most important part to remember is that we really don't know that much about the Mayans. Partly thanks to the destruction of most of their works since they were deemed heretical, and partly because a lot of their culture is buried in deep jungle. It does appear, though, that different "kingdoms" within the Mayan culture had variations on their beliefs. So even attributing one thing to the Maya as a whole is difficult and tenuous at best.

Coach 'wats (lowercase w) has complete freedom of offensive playcalling. I may provide some input here and there on a situational standpoint, but overall, ithe offense is his baby.
