  1. Reggie Davis, new RB coach?

  2. Is FSU pretty good then? Clemson rolls OK without QB, GA Tech handles Miss State, ND handles LSU... either the ACC needs some respect or the SEC is overrated beyond measure...

Smart to leave, he saw what Ameer was gonna do.

    2. Scratchtown

      Scratchtown

Yea, and saw he'd play for a better coach/team.

Read Sam McKewon's tweets. (Which were posted after I wrote this). If he was still on the team, you'd have to rely less on Ameer. RB depth had been...an issue

  4. Honest question: Mike Riley, underrated amongst the new hires? 2-2 vs Harbaugh w/a lesser OSU program (didn't have Luck nor the OL of Stanford, inferior resources, players) and gave Pete Caroll some TOUGH games vs loaded USC teams, including a win.

If only this fanbase had a rockstar alum in coaching to unify the huge fan base. Oh wait, we don't, so I guess TheSker can shut his trap now.

    3. Mavric

      Mavric

Frost would have been well received by many.

Both Riley and Harbaugh are right for their respective schools. Let's just leave it at that, k?

  5. Go on... I missed this discussion. Can't find the tweets anymore, it appears someone knew the sh#t storm they were creating and deleted them. It may no have been DB, but someone else w/ties to the program, said despite how good of a player is, it will go a long way in changing the culture of the lockerroom for the reasons I mentioned in the post above. And despite him being viewed as a "leader", the contact he will have w/players in the program will be limited because..he isn't the most likeable guy. It is what it is.
  6. Kenny and Josh are in completely different galaxies as far as this is concerned. Are you sure about that? Who started retweeting angry fans originally and calling them out? Hint: KB. Who told recruits that this is what we have to deal with after a poor performance? Hint: KB This was all publicized on twitter until Kenny got smart and started deleting all the stupid sh#t he had said/done/promoted. J-Mitch mouths off every once in a while and those rants are probably worse, but KB was the originator and says petty little sh#t way more frequently that it got the team BANNED FROM TWITTER at one point LOL. KB was the primadonna that encouraged this whole fans vs. us thing and it just took off from there. And KB was seen as a leader, captain, way before J Mitch was. EDIT - All of that said, Kenny was a heckuva player and WR for us and I'll be grateful for that, just as I was grateful for Taylor Martinez's time here.
  7. Kind of surprising how many people don't think Randy Gregory is very good, what say you? (Based on the status a couple comments down)

Or maybe they are Ed, since you they watched him all year. NFL scouts are just as hit and miss as the average fan. Look how many #1 picks actually pan out.

    3. NUance

      NUance

I bet he goes near the middle of the 1st round. Will probably start somewhere. But not nearly the impact player that Suh was/is.

    4. ladyhawke

      ladyhawke

I just think he's not ready. I'm afraid they are going to chew him up and spit him out

  8. Was this brought about by Damon Benning & others tweeting that it'll be nice to get him out of the locker room? That he will be treated like he treated Taylor when he graduates? Good player, but I admit I am slightly biased on this one, not the best leader or personality. He and J Mitch might be the Champions of the whole US vs. The fans mentality that so many of you hate. I find it ironic how many people hate that whole mentality but are defending Kenny Bell..
  9. interesting tweet I saw... we get Leroy, Mike Rose, Cjax and possibly Moss back next year. treat that lIke new juco recruits and thats a lot of talent

      Mike Schaefer @mikejschaefer

Do we consider LeRoy Alexander, Charles Jackson, Michael Rose and (maybe) Avery Moss JUCOs? That's a talent haul for 2015.

  11. this play calling + a healthy OL would've been fun

  12. Amen*looks at 3 of the 4 teams in the cfb playoff..* Mariota - runner Sims - runner OSUs top 3 QBS - runner Jameis - just good. Hasn't lost. Petty - Passer Boykin - runner.. All mobile QBs except Jameis..who can actually run if absolutely necessary and has been hobbled.. I'd say a dual threat QB, who is more of a passer first, is ideal. Too hard to stop in the college game. Note though, that all of those QBs are lethal passers who can run when needed. No one is saying mobility is a bad thing, but Bama and FSU are much more or a pro style system than a read option system. And while running QBs win lots of games, most who win National Titles are NFL caliber QB's, and more often than not, run systems that have a pro lean. Thus....they are a threat to run. All defenses struggle against good passers that can kill you with thd run if needed. Exactly. The threat to run = Less man to man coverage, more zone coverage. Easier to play QB when the looks they give you as a QB are not varied as greatly because zone allows defenders to look back at the QB, making it less likely for them to take off. Not to say it always works because you can still run against a zone, it just makes it harder. Pelini's defense ate immobile NFL level QBs alive, in part, because we didn't have to worry about the run option. It's a nice option to have.

      The King

He went 7-5 his last yr and stomped us? YIKES. clearly I have blocked that year out pretty well. Thx. We will see how Chryst does, but naturally I think all three teams will drop off and we are probably the most...fortunate... in regards to an upgrade in coaching.

  17. He is going to be waiting a long time for the hc position at Oregon then. Helfrich isn't going anywhere, not an NFL coach. He is also amongst the names for the Tulsa position.
  18. I bet Bussey was 100% committed to the old staff; other teams used the Vegas odds of Bo getting fired against us and the lack of support from SE publically to sell him and his father that they wouldn't be scrambling like his father was. Bussey loved Tennessee but knew that it was a poor business decision to go there as we promised him he would be our only RB taken this class if he was committed. Let's move on, good luck Buss Jr.
  19. ucla is 3/32 shooting lmao

  20. I swear to God if Orgeron is not the DL coach, I'll fly off the handle.

Reason to think he will be other then him saying he'd be interested in nebraska?

  21. Malik Jefferson and Daylon Mack went elsewhere, they were heavy favorites / Mack decommitted
  22. Dobson out! let's rebuild our s&c program now, awesome (not sarcastic, look at our injuries)

  23. NO clue how this works, but is it possible we could seek to minimize the payout to Bo over this?

If he said disparaging things about the University, They could sue him... but he wasnt let go because of those comments.. so probably not a leg to stand on.

    4. The King

      The King

Just started talking about it on Twitter that they might pursue the buyout

  24. This is why Suh said there were more problems than the HC, which they clearly do. HP and SE are tools; but No might've been the biggest in the room and certainly built a culture of negatitivity.

That doesn't mean anything. All their going to do with Suh is smile and take his money. Not talk about the nature of the football program with him.

    4. The King

      The King

Because Suh talks to players, coaches, others. He knows a lot
