Cy the Cyclone
I’ve noticed it’s just now March and you all are already showing a distinct lack of respect for my beloved Cyclones football program. Before you all continue on this dangerous track, I will point out to you the ten reasons why the Cyclones will travel to Lincoln this year and smack the Huskers aside like a Vega on the highway toward the BCS Championship: 1. You may have noticed that the Cyclones now own the longest road losing streak in all of college football. Achieving an illustrious record and leading the nation in some category has long been a dream of Cyclone Nation…and in order to further the fame which this honor carries with it, it is imperative that we continue to lose. That, in itself, is enough of a reason for the Clones to ball things up again by winning somewhere on the road. 2. A road win in 2008 would have resulted in a Des Moines Register headline along the lines of “Chizek and Cyclones Win On the Road” Boooooring! This year with our new coach…”Rhoads Win!” will be the headline of the day. Newspapers everywhere are pulling for us. 3. The Cyclone roster contains the only player in the Big 12 who appeared on Marv Alberts’ “Sports Bloopers Highlights 2008” for running out of the tunnel and directly into the goal posts. 4. ISU has more Canadians on their team 5. The last time the Cyclones won a game in Lincoln, the economy was in recession, gas prices were soaring and there was a Democratic Socialist idiot who didn’t know what he was doing sitting in the White House….nuff said. 6. Little known memo from the NCAA winter meetings states that due to declining academic standards in D-1 colleges, winners of all sporting contests in 2009 will be determined by alphabetical order… 7. We have a little guy on our team named “Rudy”…. 8. Former Cyclone QB Phillip Bates replaced on roster this year by psychotic brother Norman… 9. New nickname of “Rhoads Warriors” will strike fear into the hearts of Husker faithful everywhere…Jack Trice Stadium to be renamed “Thunder Dome” and team mascot to be changed from an I-Beam to a likeness of Tina Turner… 10. CUBS WIN!!! CUBS WIN!!! CUBS WIN!!! There you go…may as well just give up now and same the ISU athletic department the time and money of traveling all the way over there…and remember…you heard it here from me first! huskerswrkhavoc
Where the hell have you been? but you're right. Clones win the north this year... Quote Link to comment
junior4949
#5 sure does draw a lot of parallels to where we're at right now. I figured by football season the clowns in Washington would have the economy so far down in the $hitter that they'd have to cancel all the games because no one could afford to even go. huskrplaya
Sorry but that's really about as legit as you can get. Quote Link to comment
C N Red
Cy, you should just jump over and become a Husker fan. I can tell you want to. And if you come over to the good side now before we win our 4 national titles in a row, no one will consider it bandwagoning. Quote Link to comment
HuskerTrucker
Glad to see your alive Cy...missed bantering back and forth with you, buddy!! I know how much you love those Cyclones, but I think you have been going a little heavy on the though. Even not knowing for sure who the starting QB is going to be, Nebraska has a HUGE advantage with the game being in Lincoln. I will bet you a cold one on this game, if you like. But then I know that we would probably end up sitting there and having several more...so I wouldn't really be getting much there...but that is okay, I would get to chat with a good friend. Good luck with those Cyclones, Cy...hope you guys have a great year over there...but not in Lincoln, my friend! Quote Link to comment
T_O_Bull
Cy I love your posts, but have you not been attending group, are you not taking your meds? I hope the only game your Cycs loose this year is against the Huskers. T_O_B Quote Link to comment

But I do hope the Cyclones kick butt in Missouri, Colorado, Kansas, and Kansas State, especially!! Quote Link to comment

Ohio Pete
#5 sure does draw a lot of parallels to where we're at right now. OT: one small difference, the prevailing interest rate is now near 0; in the early 80s, it was in something like the teens. So now no one will give you a loan, and then you couldn't get a loan because it was too expensive. OTOH I'm pretty sure that that football is recession proof, so I think you are out of luck, Cy.
