ADS
So can we officially start offering QBs in the 2012 recruiting class? Or do we still wait for Bubba? QB offers already out: Devin Fuller Steve Donatell Anthony Alford Alonzo Moore Tommy Armstrong Jameis Winston And to answer the Bubba question: No, we need to take 2 QB's in this class no matter if he comes or not. All of a sudden we are thin at that position. Thanks. Now who was it that HuskerOnline mentioned that was going to get an offer depending on Bubba? I believe it was TE Terrell Mitchell from FSCC. I might be wrong though. Figured out it was Tommy Armstrong. "They said if he doesn't come, they want me bad," Armstrong said. "They said they like everything I do. He just wanted to let me know what the issue was with the guy who was a huge baseball player. If that guy doesn't go there, they want to recruit me. He said they can only give that one scholarship to one player and they're trying to figure out what he's going to do." Good find corncraze, since Tommy has an offer the staff must not like our chances with Bubba. My question is, does the CG tranfer change that? Does he get pursued no matter what now? You would like to think so, we need QBs no question. Quote Link to comment
Blackshirt316
With Both Spano and Green gone and Bubba undecided until June... Do we go grab a 2011 eligable JUCO or get in on the sweepstakes for one of the other transferring QB's like Russell Wilson? Quote Link to comment

I wouldnt be shocked but my guess is an option like that will want to be more than a depth filler and i doubt we see someone other than Taylor or Brion starting this year. Quote Link to comment

However, if he can come in right away, I say let's pursue him. Not only do we keep him from going to Wisconsin, but we also add some depth. Quote Link to comment
walksalone
It sure does hurt our depth. We've got a starter who was injury plagued last year, and #2 with 0 experience, and beyond that either walk-ons or a freshman slated for another position. But, we also have a Burkhead. Yeah, we're not experienced at QB outside of T-mart, and that is a bit troubling. Wish Green the best of luck... Quote Link to comment

bball_backer
I guess we should also question how his parents raised him, like some did the Gabberts? I've never questioned the upbringing of the Gabberts, but in defense of those who have: these are two completely different scenarios. Quote Link to comment
BIGREDFAN_in_OMAHA
Good luck Cody!! Thanks for the memories and the way you represented Nebraska!!! Quote Link to comment
Bradr
Been good Cody. Thanks man. So if we've lost 1/2 of our scholarship quarterbacks in the last week, this classifies as our entire quota for offseason bad luck/attrition, right? Quote Link to comment
Haspula
We NEED Bubba Starling now. No question about it Quote Link to comment
VA Husker Fan
I guess we should also question how his parents raised him, like some did the Gabberts? I've never questioned the upbringing of the Gabberts, but in defense of those who have: these are two completely different scenarios. Every situation is different. Completely different? No. Tell me how this is much different at all from Tyler. Forget it. I don't want to open that can of worms again. Best of luck to Cody. Sorry it didn't work out, but he got to enjoy some nice cheers and adulation, at least early on. He was kind of in a catch-22 situation, where he never really proved himself and I don't think the coaches really trusted him, but they never really put him in a situation to give him much chance to succeed. He'll always be able to say he was unbeaten as a starting Husker QB (4-0, right?), how many can say that? Quote Link to comment

What does this have to do with Gabberts???? Last I knew none of them were ever on a Nebraska football roster. Quote Link to comment
Hunter94
We NEED Bubba Starling now. No question about it you will have to be happy with Carnes.....Taylor will very likely need some backup. Quote Link to comment
