I still blame this one on the momentum change at the end of the first half. We are up 21-3 and get the ball back with :57 seconds and suddenly revert to a conservative plan, go 3 and out and allow UCLA to make some big plays and kick a field goal. They miss but they go into the locker room with some confidence and energy where as we were on our heels just trying to stop them on those last few plays.

They come out in the seconds half and keep the momentum going, we go conservative once again. Suddenly, we forget we have 3 awesome running backs and have Martinez pass the entire time. A few more 3 and outs and UCLA scores in a row and game over.

If we would have kept that momentum in the first half going, maybe even tried to get a field goal at the end of the first half, different game and story. Obviously there are other factors and scenarios, but this is when the game changed...

That's what good coaching and execution is for. You don't give up 38 unanswered at home just because of a couple of series.

Their staff made adjustments and Bo looked clueless again. It's become the norm.

Personally, I don't put this loss on Taylor. Like Spielman, I'd like to see him running the ball, and maybe I'm wrong, but it really looks like he's been coached out of that. He looks indecisive and has all year, and Beck has been praising him, calling him a game manager.

If Taylor could combine everything - a great game manager and a great playmaker - he'd be the best player in college football. Instead, he's been turned into Zac Lee.

I don't believe this. Martinez's playmaking ability is overblown in my opinion. He's broken off some big runs...but athletic teams make him look incredibly average as a runner. He's never been good at making people miss. He's the guy you want on a dead run with daylight in front....otherwise I just pray he goes down without fumbling.

he is at the cross roads that cost Cally and IMO should have saved Solich. Keep your friends, lose your job.........

Oh, I agree about the buddy-buddy hiring system.

But even I'm not willing to go down the Callahan road. Pelini at least has the respect of the team and actually gives a .... about the program.

Exactly you can't just pin everything on magic. We got slapped around after the first quarter
