TITANIC VS LUSITANIA
Updated with the recent commits and to look at the size of this class. With 19 seniors currently on scholarship, we're set to have 64 return next year (before any further attrition). That's 21 open spots plus likely the three over-signees for 24 right now. Obviously could change with any further attrition before February. We currently have 12 commits so likely 12 more (halfway done ). Priority: OT - We're in really good shape at OG but are in dire need of tackles DT - Bledsoe could end up at DT but other than that we don't seem to have a lot of interest right now. DE - Hopefully Fant doesn't get crazy. Wonder what's going on with McDaniel. WR/CB - No one seems to really be emerging as having a lot of interest in us at these spots. ----------------------------------------- My guess at the number for each position. Commits are capitalized in red - others are targets. QB - 2 - TERRY WILSON, PATRICK O'BRIEN RB - 1 - APHONSO THOMAS WR - 2-3 - Roddrick Bryant, Tino Ellis, CJ Riley, Clyde Leflore-Chriss, Steven Smothers, Michael Pittman TE - 2 - JARED BUBAK, JACK STOLL, Ryan Becker OT - 2-3 - Matt Farniok, Tremayne Anchrum OG/C - 2-3 - BRYAN BROKOP, JOHN RARIDON, Boe Wilson DT - 2-3 - Amani Bledsoe DE - 2-3 - BEN STILLE, Xavier Kelly, Noah Fant, Mykelle McDaniel LB - 3-5 - WILLIAM JOHNSON (JUCO), QUAYSHON ALEXANDER, GREG SIMMONS, JoJo Domann, Pernell Jefferson, Dontavious Jackson, Nehemiah Augustus, Ja'Quain Blakely, Isaiah Simmons CB - 2-3 - Kentrell Love, Marcus Garvin, Jarett Cole, DiCaprio Bootle S - 2-3 - MARQUEL DISMUKE, Eric Burrell Mav are we targeting any special teams guys like we did last year? I would think we would consider finding some depth at punter, since Foltz is a junior and we hear talk from Riley of his NFL potential Quote Link to comment

They said they like to reserve three spots for specialists and that's where we are right now - Foltz, Brown and Ober. Since none are graduating, seems like we'll stick with that this year. The Dude
I can't remember past recruiting cycles, but it seems like we're way ahead of the curve with this 2016 class. Is this class size bigger, right now, than it has been in the past?At this time in 2008, Bo had 4 commits for his first full recruiting class.Holy carp. I expected a difference, but that is staggering. Quote Link to comment

Dr. Strangelove
While I totally agree with Sam for our need for a quality DE, as we've really struggled to recruit the position over the last few seasons, Iowa's DE commits weren't exactly heavily recruited. If Nebraska strikes out on both McDaniel and Bledsoe, we can scramble and find similar DEs that Iowa currently has committed just like we've done the last few years. Quote Link to comment
