I stayed up to watch this game. Will regret it since I have to get up very early. Still, it was very competitive. Rutgers look pretty tough. I think they will give us a good match. Washington St. is no FCS pushover. Nice to see the Big Ten start out on a positive note.

A typical Leach team, great passing game that will score a lot of points. Poor defense that will give up a lot of points.

 

Rutgers looks to be ok, nothing spectacular though. The big thing to worry about would be NU taking them lightly.

I defend Rutgers as not being all that bad. Not great, but theyre no Purdue/Illinois. With that said, if we struggle with them in any way, that's an indictment on Nebraska, not a credit to Rutgers. We damn well better handle em either way.

Their secondary, lack of depth, and their qb getting shaken with any pressure, will keep them from being all that good. Their strength is obviously running the ball, got a couple good looking backs. They have a physical style of play which will fit right in with the B1G, but with obvious depth issues, you got to wonder how long they'll be able to keep it up. The game against Penn State in 2 weeks, should be a good one I think.

They are a solid average team. I don't see any problems with being able to beat them by a couple touchdowns. Fix ourselves and we will be fine.
