Scratchtown
That all-white alternate uniforms are good luck. Well maybe it was our plan to be all white the whole year? I mean, it was our first away game, so who REALLY knows... Quote Link to comment
Abdullah the Butcher
Our spread defense could use some work, not getting set and cornerbacks playing off receivers. Quote Link to comment

Not being set drives me nuts but as for the CB's. Depends. The reason we may be playing off is because our guys aren't particularly big like SJB was. Hard to play tight when we aren't very big/physical. Especially against the spread. Quote Link to comment
NUpolo8
Oh and Beck's affinity for running read option to the short side is approaching Solichian levels. Quote Link to comment

Scratchtown
Oh and Beck's affinity for running read option to the short side is approaching Solichian levels. I don't like his blocking schemes for his run game anyway. Part of me thinks we'd be better off having a better arm than the option threat at QB, but the other half has a blind faith of running the ball every down. Quote Link to comment
Abdullah the Butcher
I guess Gregory said Fresno's line played dirty, going for low cut blocks, called their coach dirty. Quote Link to comment
NUance
Kenny Bell is BACK! 5 catches for 84 yards. Quote Link to comment
Norhusker
At this point in the season, we look quite a bit better overall compared to last year. The Miami game will tell us much more. They are not world beaters, but are a big step up from the rest of our opponents to date. I think the McNeese state game was a blessing and deflated some of the egos on the team. The Dude
I wonder if establishing a running game early would help the offensive line get into a rhythm. The drop back passes on 2nd and 3rd & short* seems to negate any momentum. I don't think our offensive line is incapable, Beck just has a habit of making things more difficult than they have to be. *If we absolutely must pass in running situations, why not go play-action more often? macroboy
Armstrong's inaccuracy and questionable reads are damaging Ameer's Heisman chances. He need to be able to hit the slant to back defenders out of the box and FOR GOD"S SAKES CHECK DOWN TO THE RB ONCE IN A WHILE!!. He's been open for 3 full games. Over 100 yards rushing AND a big day receiving help the Heisman race! He's our best player! Feed him the ball! Newby on D looks like he might be a player. Gregory started to look like Gregory in the 2nd half. I like the freshmen that are playing. Oline looks bad on run plays but is that because there are 14 men in the box? We have TE? When did we get TE's? Hovey is the great white hope. He is like Swift and Peterson and Welker and Largent. Real playbook guy, blue collar, hard worker. High football IQ. Someone else help me finish the cliche's and color based comparisons. Oh, and I hate throwing the ball on 3rd and 2. Really I hate it. Quote Link to comment
Hingle McCringleberry
Big plays are fun to watch... When they work O line needs work TA can pass when he gets the time, otherwise he seems to panic a little, hopefully that will get better with time. Cross still makes me tingle, wish we would see a little more of him. We need to make the conf champ game Quote Link to comment
StPaulHusker
Ryker Fyfe checked down to a RB in the flat right away instead of looking for a home run. TA still doesn't have a clue that option is available all the time and not just when you are trying to win a game with 20 seconds left. Marcus Newby and Josh Kalu need to be on the field more. They make the defense way better. Every 3rd down apparently is a passing down regardless of distance. Sustained drives were difficult but overall was a much better game than last week. 1 Quote Link to comment
