With seven guys staying back to protect (5 OL + TE + RB) against 4 rushers -- you figure the QB can make it past the first line of defense if he wants to step up in the pocket. Â Beck's taking a page out of Josh McDaniels'* playbook with that one. 3 receivers downfield against 7 Michigan State coverage guys, for those keeping track. You could double everyone and still have a guy left over, for those reading too much into Kirk's "they took away his primary read" comment. Â *For those wondering what I'm talking about, Tom Brady threw an interception against Kansas City on Monday night where they kept 8 in pass pro and sent only 2 receivers out on patterns.
