Touchdown Tommie
Sadly, we could pull a miracle and win but all week I believed and read and heard that this was a special team yada yada yada. Our defense tried and played hard, our offense was out coached and our QB is mental jello. He doesn't have coaching for just QB things and its obvious. Bo, you gotta win a big game...Mich St is very beatable and we s&%t the bed. I am really just upset all the voters who didn't move us up bc they were skeptical, shoot they were right LOL -- Pelini says the same exact thing EVERY year!! Every single summer he says how great the team looks, how well practices are going, blah blah blah... then the season starts and it's a totally different story. Pelini is an expert PACIFIER -- he tells the fans what they want to hear, and for whatever reason, the continue to believe him. What else is he suppose to say? I mean, really, what the hell else do you want the head coach to say? Quote Link to comment
KazLong
So if we do everything right, we get to watch a replay of this game? 1 Quote Link to comment

The Nebraskan Assassin
This loss ends the Big 10 hunt for us. We will probably never get back into the top 20. We are developing the reputation that most announcers think about us- a powder puff team that can't win the tough ones and will never be a top tier team. I worked in PA one year and they thought we beat up small schools and ran up the scores to get great rushing stats but could never take on big teams. We proved right again tonight. If we had won, we would be 6-0 and poised to be in the top 10 with the inside track for the Big 10 Championship game. Somehow we could not muster the motivation and the coaches could not see how Sparty would come at us. Its sad that one more season has been marred. How does it end the Big 10 hunt for us? MSU is in the East division, we're in the West division. We still have a lot of goals in front of us. Our goal is the make the B1G championship game and not get slaughtered. Quote Link to comment
grandpasknee
We will be 5 and 1 after this game. I would venture a bet that 90+% of the posters on this board inked this in as a loss before the season started. Why all the angst....because we looked better getting to 5 and 0 than anyone expected. Now we're losing to a much higher ranking team, on the road, in the rain and life suddenly sucks? Fickle, fickle, fickle. I'd hate to live up to some of your expectations on a daily basis. 1 Quote Link to comment
LumberJackSker
Hold up guys, do we have to won to put a qb in the graveyard?can we bury tommy there? Quote Link to comment
Saunders
We've had chances to get Rich Rod ("but he failed at Michigan"), Chris Petersen ("he'll never leave Boise"), and others, yet we let them go... I'd take any of them right now. Petersen wanted a west coast job, this wasn't a secret. And RR? No, just no. Quote Link to comment
carlfense
Yep. This is a 9 win team. Just like Alabama and Oregon. See the difference is they are actually good teams... Yeah. About that . . . They would absolutely destroy us. Oregon scored 46 on MSU and we have 3. whoosh. Quote Link to comment
Karawithasmile
I know if I was Beck I'd certainly insert some counters and misdirection. I would not use his play book. I'd add those wrinkles you listed. But no one bitched when we rolled up all those points and rushing yards against our first five opponents. That Miami game was certainly a big game and we won that in grand fashion, so the "they do this in every big game in a row... Ever" guys can GTFO. McNeese not withstanding, he looked to turn a corner. I held my breath because we'd seen him fall on his face in big games before. It appears he has again. But I propose that this time, perhaps we just went into a damn tough environment in damn tough conditions to play a damn disciplined team with a damn good coach and a damn good D with an improving O... And lost. Oddly, I don't feel too much shame in that. I don't feel that bad at all. Disappointed, yes... But our goals are all still there for the taking. I just hate the way we lose. We play sloppy, we look unprepared, we don't adjust and we generally get embarrassed. As fun and emotional as the Miami game was for history's sake, it was not a "big game" in the same way that this game tonight was. We know Miami was a shell of its former self and we were at home. louisianared
We will not face a team as good as Michigan State the rest of the year. I can easily see us going undefeated the rest of the way, then we gotta see who's in the B1G championshipreally? Because Nebraska never looses to teams it shouldn't Doesn't mean they will this year. No one left on the schedule that we can't defeat. Lots of games left. Not like we are getting embarrased like LSU and a few others tonight Quote Link to comment

The past two weeks, I thought we had found our identity. I just can't figure out why he runs no counters, draws, traps, misdirection, tries to get a receiver behind the LB's. They stopped the straight ahead game and he had no plan B. Watching other teams today (some great games) coaches adjusted. Us, not so much if ever. Frustrating. MSU D is tough. better game plan, with their TO's and we should be winning IMO. Quote Link to comment
