There wont be an announcement until at least this Sunday. Its my understanding that they must post the job opening for 7 days before officially hiring for the position.

 

Thought I saw something on Twitter from Brian Christopherson about a waiver they could use to announce whenever they wanted...

I hadn't seen that. Do you have the link by chance, i would love to read it? I wasnt aware of the waiver, but i am sure SE can find a way around it, if he really wants to.

Credible insider from another board confirmed that Tressel is all but hired. The plan is for Frost to be OC and head coach in waiting. So the rumors may orove to be correct.

This is the thing I don't get. Tressel, JUST became President of Youngstown St. I don't think he's the kind of person to job jump. It's still possible, but the fact that he just became President is what's making me doubt this.

 

What do you think as an OSU fan hearing this rumor?

 

If true, you're going to get a great coach, and a good person. He will win, but you will be frustrated if you're expecting an offensive powerhouse. His teams make few mistakes.

 

My feelings are, if Nebraska gets Tressel, there's going to be problems (for other teams) I felt the same way when MSU hired D'Antonio (my literal first words when I heard about it were, "Uh oh")

 

Are Buckeye fans hearing any rumors about Tressel other than what we're spewing here?

 

None. His twitter account is all about Youngstown St. and the events they're doing here. Dustin Fox (the reporter that refuted it earlier) played for Tressel, and has kept close ties with him. So when he said it isn't happening, I'd be inclined to believe it.

Just remember, Tressel's favorite play is the punt. If he becomes the head coach, you will be frustrated at the lack of offense. But if he gets who he wants for defense, it won't really matter much. (although in this day and age, the playoffs seem to take offense into account, so that could be a detriment for playoffs)

I think everyone needs to relax and have some patience. Bo was released just yesterday...

 

 

 

I'm not saying that I am not getting impatient, but still

 

No dammit! I have probably one of the busiest weeks in my life and this isn't helping my productivity. They need to announce it now so that I can stop looking every hour.

@GarySharp1620 You & I both thought & said yesterday that NU's new coach was a guy that coached this weekend. I believe that more than ever.

@kevinkugler @dirkchatelain @GarySharp1620 I'm totally speculating, but Im ruling out ALL assistants. I'll take crow warm or cold
