suh_fan93
Ed Orgeron 'definitely interested' 247Sports spoke to Orgeron Thursday afternoon, where the former Ole Miss head coach confirmed that he had not heard from Nebraska, but that he would definitely be interested if they called. Orgeron has been an assistant head coach at Tennessee and USC, but has never served as a defensive coordinator at the collegiate level. Orgeron also let 247Sports know he would prefer to be defensive coordinator at Nebraska, but has not heard what Riley's preference would be, if he were interested in hiring Orgeron. zoogs
After Tressel, I hope this isn't just a huge tease! We need some recruiting prowess at Nebraska. Make it happen, guys. Quote Link to comment

That's exactly how I feel. We have the head coach hired but it's critical that he puts together a good staff. I know that's obvious to most. I'm just hopeful at this point. Quote Link to comment
Eric the Red
Do these two coaches have any past between one another? If not, we are we even considering he will be interviewed? Quote Link to comment

Moiraine
Do these two coaches have any past between one another? If not, we are we even considering he will be interviewed? Probably because he flat out said he's interested. Anyone who says that is going to be considered a possibility by fans. Quote Link to comment

Vizsla1
Quick google search shows he was interested in USC to contact him as well... is he desperate? From what I can gather, dude can recruit like hell and enjoys a few adult beverages, and really would miss being in charge of his own program again. Quote Link to comment
BigWillie
Give Coach O whatever he wants. I'd give him $400-$500k a year for just a d-line coach. He's well worth it. Kids will love this guy. And he an absolute boss on the recruiting trail. You will NEVER hear him make an excuse about how hard it is to recruit to Nebraska. Guy will just reel top talent like he has his whole career. 2 Quote Link to comment

He can recruit his ass off. He is interested in the job. Please God make this happen. This would completely change my outlook on the Riley hire. I dont know how long Rileys staff has been together tho. 1 Quote Link to comment
teachercd
Again...if Riley really believes in hiring guys that are "better than him" or whatever he said...then he has to contact Ed-O 1 Quote Link to comment
