Hammerhead
Safety LeRoy Alexander and receiver Jariah Tolbert will transfer. Linebacker David Santos, a senior-to-be, won't be part of Nebraska's football team this fall. Nebraska coach Mike Riley announced all this Thursday morning in an emailed statement. No further explanation regarding the three departures was given. OWH link Sounds like the speculation about Alexander was correct. (Mods: I see that this was discussed in the "Who's Leaving?" thread. Apologies if creating a new thread wasn't warranted.) Quote Link to comment
husker B-rent
See I always look for new threads, not an old thread. That would seem to limit conversation. About made a new one myself! 1 Quote Link to comment
NUance
Seems like a starter leaving the fold deserves its own thread. I just hope we don't have to start too many more of *these* threads. Quote Link to comment
Minnesota_husker
Bummed about Santos and Alexander. Santos had experience. Alexander had potential. Tolbert clearly didnt care enough, and didnt see him moving up many depth charts. Tough to lose 2 guys who were penciled in starters in the spring, but in the case of Alexander, if the kid cant figure it out, then good riddens. Very curious on Santos and that reasoning. LB is a major area of concern. Quote Link to comment

Enhance
Damon Benning seems to agree with the idea about 3 more players may be leaving. A lot of people seemed to expect we'd see transfers at some point for a variety of reasons. These three guys seem, at least in part, to be leaving for various off-the-field concerns. Warrior10
Looks like Tolbert committed to a JUCO in Arizona last night. Quote Link to comment

If he has in fact committed to a JUCO in AZ, it'll be interesting to see if his move is back into D1. You'd think it'd have to be. But, he'll have to do a lot of impressing I think if he wants to play at a bigger D1 school. Nebraska was by far and away the best school that recruited him out of high school, passing offers from Kent State, Southern Miss, Tulane and a few others. Quote Link to comment

Any idea who the other 3 would be? I know Bondi is one that was talked about and QB is always one when someone sees the depth chart. Quote Link to comment
Hedley Lamarr
Bondi and Boaz Joseph are a likely 2/3 Quote Link to comment
Bigred_inSD
Shocked about Santos, I wonder if that injury he had coupled with overall health and him not seeing himself making the NFL has caused him to step away and get younger guys on the field experience ( If so, an absolute tip of the cap to him for this) Leroy Alexander needs to figure it out and take care of himself before moving on with football, he has potential but you have to wonder where his mind is at right now. Tolbert. We have depth at WR, and to make sure I have them all straight, Irons is the guy who has a lot of speed and was getting a lot of DPE comparisons right? Tolbert caught the nice over the shoulder TD in the spring game? Quote Link to comment
huKSer
One of the online articles I read kept mentioning Santos leg injury - could this be a factor? The other 2 were said to be transferring. The quote: "Safety LeRoy Alexander and receiver Jariah Tolbert will transfer." The quote on Santos: "Linebacker David Santos, a senior-to-be, won't be part of Nebraska's football team this fall."
