OH HSKR FAN
I would put Helu in front of Burkhead. Quote Link to comment
Landlord
How awesome that we've had the top 3 in reverse order over the last 5 years. We've definitely been spoiled for a while. Quote Link to comment
ZRod
Kinda sad that for each one you can say they deserved so much more. Everyone of those guys should at least have a conference title under their belt. Quote Link to comment
Redux
Kinda sad that for each one you can say they deserved so much more. Everyone of those guys should at least have a conference title under their belt. Each left lasting impressions. Helu's 307 against Mizzou, Burkhead's beast mode against tOSU, and Ameer's game changer against Mcneese. The problem is they were all crippled by the weight of their team and handicapped by the staff that couldn't mentally prepare the team that was there to support them. Each one could have been the difference maker in bringing home a trophy. Sadly we all had to settle for fun highlights. Their contributions are certainly appreciated and greatly missed. 2 Quote Link to comment
Enhance
It's interesting to think how some may have viewed Lucky's career had he come in as a two or three star. I think he would still fall at the same spot on the list, but, I think some people's opinion of him may be a bit brighter had he not been a five star recruit. Quote Link to comment
Hedley Lamarr
We have definitely produced some great RBs hopefully we keep that trend going Quote Link to comment
Savage Husker
What happened with the tail end of Lucky's senior year anyway? Did he get injured? His "Huskers.com" bio said he started 11 games up until the CU game where he didn't play because of injury. Or did he find the doghouse? Prior to the blowout loss to OU, he had led the team in carries each game, a few were close to split carries, but he started and carried bulk load. During and after that OU game, he hardly touched the ball, and last 2-3 games never even saw the field. Just seemed weird. Quote Link to comment

I think him and Helu were both hurt that's why Castille started the bowl game Quote Link to comment

It wasn't just the tail end of his senior year; it was his entire senior year. In the offseason we were all freaking out because Helu was listed as an "or" at the #1 RB spot on the depth chart, and from the start Lucky just wasn't the same player, for whatever reason. He gets a bad rap though. Up until his disappearing act, he was a damn good all-conference level runningback. He'd be remembered differently moreso if he was on better teams than if he wasn't a 5 star, imo. He was barely second string to Jackson, who has him beat by two spots on this list, and who only had one productive year, whereas Marlon had 2 really productive years and 2 mostly productive ones. Jackson was pretty darn good and also left a year early, probably a good choice on his behalf. Quote Link to comment
BigRedBuster
Well, as far as who else should be on the list, we really haven't had any other starting RBs since then. Davis is the only other one I can think of. Quote Link to comment
Joe_5700
I would put Helu in front of Burkhead. I would agree with that if Rex had not played QB in some key situations for us. 1 Quote Link to comment

In my opinion. Those 3 SHOULD be the top of the list. The other 4, I was never impressed with. Except Bjax. Was never a fan of Ross, Lucky, or Dedrick Quote Link to comment
