When he committed he made it known it was between tOSU and us. Said how much he liked KW. From the day he committed analysts some predicted this would happen. My guy tells me he trusts our staff and KW more than the bozo coaching in Columbus. Hiring Donte had to help too

Actually you are mostly correct, but I do believe he left us off of his commitment video. Maybe that was a sign of respect though.

Not sure where I read it but I do remember him being quoted it was a tough decision between the two and he specifically mentioned KW. Have a feeling we were always kind of still in the back of his mind. Not to mention the twitter fight between position coaches when he committted. Not sure why people think Zach Smith is such a good recruiter. He comes off as such a tool, and that's not just coming as an opposing fan. Guy is just a loser

Zac Smith is a tool on twitter but he has been the primary recruiter for multiple 5 and 4 star guys that OSU has landed. I am sure you will write that off as Urban Meyer doing most of the work.

Don't think USC would be in it, judged by this quote:

...“I’m staying away from the streets, the parties and the people that aren’t good for me on the West Coast. I need to get mentally prepared to get there because you have to be mentally strong at Ohio State. That’s one of the reasons why I wanted to go somewhere new. I’ve seen too much on the West Coast, I’m ready to see something new and my future is going to be bright and different in Ohio and I appreciate it.”

Obviously sub out the Ohio part now. Wants to get away though. That's great for us.

I don't think people will say it is all Meyer, but you have to admit that playing for Meyer has a certain luster to it that influences a lot of kids as much or more than the tool bag Smith does

I'm sure Smith is a good recruiter but it certainly helps when kids do want to play for Urban and do want to go to a school like OSU. Those factors probably out weigh anything Smith sells them on imo.

Maybe so, but if Meyer didn't think Smith was a competent coach, Smith wouldn't be employed at OSU. Look at the turnover of coaches on the offensive side of the ball for OSU over the past few weeks.

I don't care to defend Smith but I don't understand why people give him 0 credit.

we need to get Lindsey on board and then have him push this exact same thing on Joe Lewis who has made similar comments in the past IIRC
