84HuskerLaw
This is the stuff of legends and myths! Let's hope it is legend rather than myth. I, for one, am very happy to hear some very positive news that seems credible and reliable. Somebody with some football gravitas says Tanner Lee is the real deal. Now we're getting somewhere. Thus far all we have heard is that he was a star at Tulane (a traditional 'homecoming' opponent for most schools). Can't wait to get spring practice started. I believe the word is that spring practices will be opened up so we may actually get to hear and see some things rather than just third person hearsay. Season Three is when all the best 'shows' really get good - Go Big Red! Quote Link to comment

broganreynik
I can't say I'm surprised. This kid looks like the real deal in practice. After I saw him take one snap, I got excited. After seeing him in a few practices, I think the sky's the limit for this kid.Other than a big arm, anything else stand out? Trying to get a scouting report for him and POB to base expectations. He interacts with the team really well, has an air of confidence about him and appears to command the huddle. He has the quickest release I've ever seen at Nebraska. He runs through progressions quickly, but doesn't just check down. He has good mechanics and he steps up into the pocket well. Granted all of this is in practice on the scout team and warm-ups. It could change come game time, but I'm definitely excited to see what we can accomplish with him under center for the next couple years. I hope it's a couple anyway. Wow. That is an incredible tease there. That and the other comments has me excited. He's definitely a step up in the passing department. His accuracy will be the most apparent upgrade out of the gate. It sounds like he definitely wowed at that camp too. I just hope it all translates to game day and that he's not just a practice warrior. Quote Link to comment

In the Deed the Glory
I gotta tell ya'll, this talk about Tanner Lee being NFL caliber is making things swell up in places.... BC4L Quote Link to comment
C N Red
Fact is, if he cant run the zone read or roll backwards out of the pocket instead of stepping up in it, he cant be that good. 1 Quote Link to comment

Making Chimichangas
I think Tanner Lee will be fine. And, if he's not, we have Patrick O'Brien with Zack Darlington possibly being used as a change of pace QB as per Mike Riley. And if all those guys can't cut it, we do have true freshman Tristan Gebbia, not to mention that Juco QB who transferred in. We are going to be just fine at QB. Offensive line however, that's another story altogether. For two years we've heard about these last two OL classes and how special they are. Well, this season will be the opportunity to prove it. Depth isn't quite where I want it to be, but it isn't nearly as bad as the last two years. The key will be how this team comes together. Quote Link to comment

If they get even 20% better we will be ok Quote Link to comment
TITANIC VS LUSITANIA
Yes, but what about the OL Quote Link to comment
Cdog923
I've had my doubts, but this is the first piece of info that gets me relatively excited about Lee at QB next year. Quote Link to comment
