TGHusker
This posted poorly??? https://twitter.com/JimCarrey Know how you can tell when an admitted liar is being truthful? When he has CORROBORATING EVIDENCE! Like this hush money check to Michael Cohen signed by his boss...CROOKED DONALD TRUMP!!! Link to comment

They have along with you know the audio recordings that came out from Cohen and Trump himself discussing the McDougal payoff through AMI. Link to comment

It funny that there is soooo much evidence to corroborate some of his testimony that you actually forget all the evidence there is. It is really sobering sometimes. Link to comment

I guess one positive is it will certainly be a good test of just how conservative McConnell and Trump have pushed the courts to truly become... Even then, what type of conservative? The actual, limited-government, reign-in-excessive-executive-power type or the new, bow-to-Trump-at-all-times type? That will be very telling. If it's the latter, they have no spine and the courts are going to be a clusterf*ck for a long time. 2 Link to comment

Danny Bateman
Wow. Prosecutors were asking for 15-19 years for Manafort and the judge gave him 47 months, apparently impressed by something. Pretty abject lesson in sentencing disparity in our country. We continue to give white collar criminals (ones working against the country's best interests, nonetheless!) slaps on the wrist. Some people are pretty p#ssed, to say the least. Hechinger's tweets in particular are pretty startling. 1 1 Link to comment
NM11046
What a disgusting sentence. All the experts say next week's judge is harsher, but that the max she can give is like 10. Sickening how unfair this system is. 2 Link to comment

There needs to be uniformity so one isn't punished by where they live, their color, wealth and political connections. Do away with "3 Strikes and you are out" that gives automatic harsh sentences on the 3rd offense. Remove the harsh prison terms for illicit drugs (except for distributing, selling, etc) - provide rehab instead. There are so many things that could/should be done. But 48 months for Manafort shows bias -- we'll see how soon Trump pardons him. 4 Link to comment
