brophog
Long runs tend to be a function of the back, moreso than blocking. Quote Link to comment

It does take good blocks by the WR’s to break really long runs, and a good RB to read those blocks and have the speed to break away from the D. Quote Link to comment

Blocking gets you to the third level of the defense, then it's on the RB. Quote Link to comment

I don't think Osborne fixated on Pelini, unless by 'fixated', you mean what anybody does with the person they ultimately hire. Even before he'd fired Callahan, he'd made arrangements with a search firm and told them not to tell him the candidates until he'd made up his mind about BC. Quote Link to comment

I'm not sure the NCAA will buy "knee issues" as a season-ending injury, but I'm sure they get more details than we do. If 'season-ending' just means he doesn't play again that year, barring a setback sounds like it's up to him and the coaches. It would really suck if they denied it because it shouldn't have stopped him from coming back though. If I read it right, he could still play an entire game and still be eligible for the medical redshirt? If he is close to being back, I guess he could try a game and see how it goes? Also something in the rule to prevent teams from just saying the player couldnt return. Quote Link to comment

He's way too young Quote Link to comment
desertshox
Yes but those games have to be before the injury occurs. Key part is "season ending". Quote Link to comment
dundermifflin
jmo, but, going by some of the things i have read about chronic knee problems, along with coach riley's comments that tre had this problem while in high school and that his knees are those of a much older person-------i have to really wonder if fans see much of tre again. think this was a big gamble by the staff and may have lost. don't get me wrong, wish nothing but the best for tre and would love to see him return......but, with those knees... the women's bb team may have a similar problem with rachel blackburn. i noticed in one photo she has big braces on both knees. she missed last season and really have to wonder how much they will get out of her the rest of her career. ColoradoHusk
Riley mentioned in his press conference today that Bryant is headed for surgery, and will miss the remainder of the season. Good candidate to receive a medical redshirt for this season. 1 Quote Link to comment
famoustitles
glad this is being done. I know people have stated they thought this needed to be done. Wonder why it took as long as it did to get to this point, since he’s had the issue since high school. Nevertheless hope he gets back to 100% as soon as possible and it fixes his knee issue. Dansker
Can't say I'm not surprised. I had a feeling this was coming. Really hope he can get the chronic knee issues taken care of quickly and he can bounce back and have a great season in 18. Quote Link to comment
chamrocck
Really liked what Tre showed. I hope he can get the medical redshirt and we see him back another season. Quote Link to comment
Isle of View
Riley really botched this situation. Quote Link to comment
