What's pathetic?  He was found guilty of murder by a jury of his peers.  Are you saying a jury trial is pathetic?  Or that he killed an innocent man?  Or that he'd probably not be going to jail if he hadn't had an twitchy trigger finger?  Or if he hadn't incited a response from the protesters by driving his car into the protest?

The video in the Twitter thread you posted doesn't show anything other than him driving rapidly into to protest, people responding and gunshots break out immediately.  FAFO it seems to me but I wasn't in the jury and neither were you or the Daily Caller source you provided complete with the racist/antisemitic tropes like "BLM mob" and "Soros-backed DA".

Just to provide some context into your martyr.

it'people forget that the DA can only bring charges...it's a jury that convicts.

Is it possible that a far right influencer misrepresented much of the incident in order to fuel partisan outrage, and one of our HuskerBoard brethren passed it along as pathetic fact?

he seems to be cheering for the guy who said someone could and should drive into a protest and claim self defense who later drove into a crowd with a gun and shot someone who wasn't shooting at him and claimed self defense..

"Racist Tropes."  Meanwhile, Biden's thoughts on KKK's Robert Byrd: "He was a mentor and a friend, and for a lot of us, he was a guide."

BLM has nothing to do with supporting black lives.  Such a progressive group.

You sound like you'd love Austin.  Thankfully it looks very little like most of TX.

Wrong again.

Looks like they were beating on his car as well.

Why he was there was idiocy.  Austin harbors and promotes BLM; the latter's principles and name being disingenuous to its intent as an org.

The Austin Police Department concluded at the time that Perry acted in self-defense

Yea, that's bad.  You're significantly swimming upstream if you're posting that stuff and this situation happens.  Even if the actual shooting situation that night happened where he could've used justifiable force, the posts are a terrible look.

That said, it seems that the APD investigator testified for the Defense.  And the D.A. went through around six Grand Juries to find one that would indict.

The indictment itself was not without controversy. Detective David Fugitt, the well-respected lead investigator in the case who is known locally as the "godfather of the homicide unit," claimed in a sworn affidavit in August 2021 that prosecutors under Travis County District Attorney Jose Garza, one of several district attorneys who have been funded by leftwing billionaire George Soros, forced him to remove exculpatory evidence from his presentation to the grand jury.

And yet where it mattered - a trial - the jury convicted him. And when you announce you're going to go kill people and then you do - that's premeditation - not just "swimming upstream" or "a terrible look".

The 6th jury they could find, after five others wouldn't indict, convicted him.

And OJ walked.

He'll likely be pardoned.  And I guess you didn't like this part; I'll post again.

There it is, the whataboutism card. Didn't Byrd renounce his bigoted past?  Aren't Christians all about grace?  There's still time for you.

Never been there but it seems like a pretty cool oasis in the middle of a backwards, hillbilly state.
