If we can't get a roof or faraday cage and we insist on playing football when it displeases the thunder gods then we shouldn't complain when we get rained out. Quote Link to comment
Cdog923
You got $100 to $150 million? That's what it will roughly cost. It's a silly idea, brought on by the frustration of a once-in-a-lifetime event that squashed what was supposed to be an epic night in the history of Husker football. Let's not completely lose our sense of sanity over it. 3 Quote Link to comment
ColoradoHusk
I made a joke tweet about the rumored LINOMA dome that was supposed to be built in the late 1980s. You guys can’t be serious about a freaking dome. Quote Link to comment

Scarlet Overkill
How the times have changed. About 22 years ago, my cousin told me this "joke".... "Did you hear that we're building a dome over Memorial Stadium? Yeah, it's to keep frost off the field." Now, we want one to keep Frost ON the field. 2 Quote Link to comment

You might be right; I found a couple articles citing costs of retractable roofs for both New Yankee Stadium and Met Life in New York, and those were the estimates provided. Quote Link to comment

slwags
Does it have to be enclosed. Original plans for Kaufman and Arrowhead included a roof that could moved from one stadium to the other https://www.thepitchkc.com/news/article/20568115/a-look-back-at-the-original-truman-sports-complex-plans-roof-and-all Quote Link to comment

Moiraine
This reminds me of that time a guy tried to take down a plane using his shoe and then for the rest of eternity everyone in America had to take their shoes off at the airport. The big difference between this overreaction and that one is there’s a lot less chance of mass death in the specific area of memorial stadium due to thunderstorms. 2 Quote Link to comment
