Now Steve Bullock has entered the Montana race. The Senate will be interesting.

I think he has better than not chance of winning.  Two Dem senators in a historically red state.

Bullock is the best possible candidate for Montana, but he's said forever he doesn't want to enter. It looks like he may finally have had a change of heart - though he hasn't officially announced it yet. I think deadline is Monday.

With the polls @QMany linked, if everything breaks right, there's a very legitimate chance of the Senate going blue this election.

Say Hi to Impeachment Trial # 2 and Good-bye to Trump who will then say Hi to FBI agents arresting him due to SDNY action.

it takes a 2/3 majority vote in teh senate to impeach.   i don't see that much change.   but it would knock moscow mitch out of control

He’s already been impeached. What you’re talking about is conviction and removal.

what would be interesting is if the senate turns blue because so many people are fed up with how congressional republicans are protecting Trump, Republicans would have seen two election cycles where they lost power because of their protection of Trump. Does that make the remaining Republicans start to question what they are doing and more vote to convict?

In particular, a lot of these Senate seats are competitive BECAUSE voters are dissatisfied with these senators conduct vis-à-vis Trump.

Collins popularity in Maine, a fairly blue state overall, is in absolute shambles after she voted to confirm Kavanaugh. Taking a feckless stand and casting a vote for witnesses during impeachment that she knew wouldn't pass didn't help.

Gardner in CO voted against witnesses and electorally is a dead man walking as deep blue as CO is. That poll has him down 13 points.

Thom Tillis has been a reliable Trump lackey in NC and of course voted against witnesses as well. NC is very purple under the right circumstances. They've got an incredibly corrupt state GOP, a popular D governor and voters may be looking to send a message.

McSally is hilarious because she already lost the race in 2018 to replace Jeff Flake as AZ senator by 2.4% and was subsequently appointed by the R governor there to fill McCain's old seat. She's currently down 5 points to Mark Kelly, who is a professional badass. Her response has been to double down and become more of a Trumpist. It's going to cost her and she will have lost 2 separate Senate races in 2 years.

These people have no one to blame but themselves for hugging so tightly to Trump. Someone like Sasse might coast to re-election here because of how red Nebraska is, but voters in purple and light-red areas have seen enough of the spinelessness.

FYI, CO is not deep blue. CO is slightly more Dem and Repub, but lots of very Republican parts of the state.

Mark Kelly is currently burying Martha McSally in Arizona. Maricopa County is a Republican bellweather (and the most populous county in the state) and she's losing it by almost 20 points.

Kelly is a tremendous candidate. Him running is a big part of why Biden will make a serious play to flip AZ blue.

McSally and Ted Cruz painting Mark Kelly as backed by the Chinese govt. Yes combat pilot and commander for a NASA space shuttle, Mark Kelly. Apparently the playbook from these d******ds this year is to just say every democrat is a Chinese asset.
