Biden's America

The issue for me is not the “issue” itself. WWJD or what should actual Christians do isn’t the issue.

My focus is defeating orange man bad and, imo, this edict doesn’t help that cause. There are hard left and hard right groups that won’t be swayed. But there has to be a rather large group in the middle that can still be influenced. I believe many in that group are not opposed to equal and fair treatment of the LGBTQ community BUT are at the same time tired of having the issue shoved in their face. I’d rather those people vote for Biden than Trump. Let the Rs spew their messages of hate to determine which side people align with. IMO it’s not an issue that requires an opposite message to win the issue. Dems can simply say we support inclusion and let the Rs shoot themselves in the foot.

Anyhow, that’s my two cents.

I just find it hard to believe the idiots who would be mad about something like this are swayable. Chances are the message was automated, since this is the 4th year they've done it. It's potentially an oversight to let it go again this time given it's on a religious holiday this year, but if they had not made the proclamation after doing it the previous 3 years in a row, there is another group of idiots who would have been upset and asked why it wasn't mentioned (e.g.: is Biden ashamed now that it's an election year!?), and this group of idiots are more likely to be potential Biden voters.

I kinda of figured that was your position, but I think anyone who could be "swayed" by this was a lost cause to begin with.

I don't think it's so much a message of opposition as it is a message of inclusion. It let's people who fall into that category know that we see you and respect you for who you are as a human being. That can mean a lot to a group who has been treated as sub human a long, long time.

Why not both :dunno

Idk... You're the one that seems triggered by a reoccurring day that just happens to fall on Easter Sunday this year. And Pilate killed Jews all the time, should we be doing that then since we shouldn't have a day of recognition?

I guess I'm still trying to figure out how a day that is intended to bring awareness and tolerance about a marginalized group that has historically faced violence for who they are is something that Jesus wouldn't have supported.

The truly ironic part though is that the most outraged group of said tolerance supports a guy who openly talks about and was found liable for groping women against their will, cheated on one of his many wives while she was pregnant with a porn star, and is currently grifting off the Bible by trying to sell it for $60.

Yet not only has there been zero outrage from MAGA about that they literally claim he is chosen by God.  But Biden who actually goes to church..... Let's post images of him bound and gagged.  The right-wing Christian experience in a nutshell.

Am I? You're the one that keeps posting this stuff. I didn't post some rage bait about an LGBTQ day or bring up Pontius Pilate.

I find it interesting the rage froth against you for you posting your opinion.

Probably would've gone differently if you and him and others didn't start it off with the silly erroneous claims that Biden chose Easter as the day for this.

It's not rage bait...it's just the same sad, tonedeaf bullsh*t from this Admin.

Yes, a holiday that provided them an opportunity to not alienate more potential voters. I guess the $64,000 question is if it helped gain more than it lost. My bet is it was a net loss.

Anyway…

Biden being inclusive somehow alienated Christians. I think your blaming the wrong people here.

Who cares whether it was chosen as a direct affront?  It is on Easter,  is it not.

If that's your beef, then you need to move your faux outrage to whoever made Easter a floating date.

I've read the past few pages and I have no idea why people who identify as Christian would have a problem with this.

The Jesus you claim to follow would be the first person inviting the people you hate to Easter dinner.

Y'all need to read Matthew 7:21-23 again. If you truly believe Jesus is God, he's speaking about you.

Happy Easter.

He did choose it.   He very could have changed it for a single year and CHOSE to celebrate it a day early or a day later.   And did we really need another day for it anyways?
