Some context about "Bidenomics" which appears to imply inflation is Biden's fault.

High inflation remains geographically broad-based. Consumer price growth has even started rising in Asia, a region that until recently had largely been an exception to the worldwide pattern.

First link.

Last paragraph under "Understanding CPI" explains that actions from both Trump and Biden's stimulus have added to it.  But.......yep.....it's Bidenomics.

However, it must be stated that many economists disagree with this author that the stimulus was the main driver of inflation.

This has been building to this point ever since the pandemic started.  There are a number of issues that have driven inflation and pretty much all of them started building steam once the pandemic hit.

Im quite certain you remember me saying before that the Trump stimulus was part of the inflation story.   The slow Fed response too.  And Bidenomics has exacerbated the problem

Apparently the entire world got the stimulus.   ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I was acknowledging the slow response clear back in early 2021 when officials were calling it temporary and nothing to worry about.

The main issues causing inflation started clear back when the pandemic started and those forces have long term affects.  And, neither Trump, nor Biden are the driving force behind the vast majority of it.  It's being pandered out as a political issue to drive votes from the Republican base right now.

Well....can we trust what they say if they claim the stimulus was the main driving force of the US inflation?

I don’t think for a second that the stimulus payments contribute more than an undetectable amount of inflation. What’d we get, less than $3k total? I don’t know about others but the 2 or 3 payments we got didn’t move the needle an inch. Really didn’t even notice them and we sure as hell didn’t run out and buy a bunch of crap we otherwise wouldn’t have. IMO the only people claiming that stimulus caused inflation are doing it solely for political purposes. And it’s the same people who don’t seem to care that the ultra rich haven’t been paying their fair share of taxes. I bet that causes way more inflation than the pittance they distributed back to us.

Everyone on this board likes BBC for their reporting and BBC disagrees with you and @BigRedBusteron the government spending as a cause for inflation.

The reason the US fared worse? In two words - high demand.

That was driven by the massive $5tn (£4.1tn) in spending the US government approved to shield households and businesses from the economic shock of the pandemic.
