Is he approaching any career records that we know of?  Where is he on total offense and passing yards?

He's 5th in career passing yards.

He's 4th in career total offense yards.

#1, Tommy Armstrong 10,690

#2, Taylor Martinez 10,223

#3, Eric Crouch 7,915

#4 Adrian Martinez 5,828

I could see him moving up to #3, but he's not reaching #1 or #2.

Thanks, I thought he would have had more.  But then I remember he has missed several games in his career.  Short season last year too.

He had 3,246 yards of offense his freshman year, 2,582 his sophomore year.

If he stays healthy, plays decent and returns next year, he'll be #1.

He's about 3200 yds from top spot in passing yards(that would put him at least 2nd for passing yards in a season). Probably takes 2nd if healthy this year. Definitely possible to hit 1st this year but would have to have the offense really rolling.

Hey @BigRedBuster, I think I have Adrian at 7,404 total offensive yards. Did you say you see 5,828?

He had 5,828 before last year, which is pretty impressive. Although your 7,404 is also wrong! It does not account for his -11 yard "catch" of his own pass against Michigan in 2018, which he tried to throw again. So 7,393, well within striking distance of first.

Haha, thank you my friend for that clarification.   :)

But yeah so basically if 2020 hadn't been a mere 8 game season - and assuming McCaffrey had that one almost completely full game against Illinois - Adrian would probably be sitting at around 7,950. Definitely would be within striking distance of getting the top spot in four years.

The shortened 2020 season is hurting his chances there. I'm intentionally ignoring the possibility that he plays a fifth season for the purpose of this exercise (but am hoping super bad that he does play the fifth, and in that case he crushes the record obviously).

Hmm, I thought so.  Well with a full healthy season and a bowl game, he has a chance at being at the top for total yards.  Would need a really good season.

However, finishing in the top 3 is not too shabby either.

It's really not even that far out of the question.  If not almost expected if he stays healthy.

Current total = 7,404

Best year = 3,246

Another year at that rate would be 10,650, 40 yards short of the #1 spot.  And he missed time his freshman year.  And didn't have a bowl game.

I know Mav ;) I said it in a way so that some of his distracters wouldn't have a cow.
