The 2022 Congressional Elections

No I'm confident he doesn't.

He doesn't understand the difference between being law enforcement and getting a fake badge for contributing to a law enforcement fund raiser.  He doesn't understand the difference between being a validictorian and not graduating.  He doesn't understand the difference between being against all abortions and paying for one of his own.  He doesn't understand the difference between for profit and non profit organizations.  He doesn't seem to understand that if you say you make substantial donations to charity that there's a way for people to actually check on that.  He doesn't seem to understand that there's a difference between owning a company and not (and there's a way for people to check on that too).  He doesn't seem to understand that when you father a child a kid is born and you need to support them.

He certainly doesn't understand diabetes.

I didn’t watch the debate so not sure what the context is on his or any poster comments, but if anyone says diet and exercise doesn’t help diabetes, they just don’t understand the disease.

Diet and exercise “helps” everything.

You should watch the clip before you even hint at defending the idiot.

And you my friend, just like Hershel don't understand the difference between Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.

Ummm ya I kinda do.   s#!tty diets (and at times family genetics) lead to s#!tty A1C’s which lead to type2 diabetics.   Juvenile diabetes, I.e type1 can still be better controlled with good diet and exercise.  You won’t fine an endocrinologist, nephrologist, Retina specialist, or PCP that disagrees.

I didn’t defend him.

*not sure what happened to my “didn’t” but I wasn’t defending Walker and said I didn’t watch the debate.   Was making a general statement to those who pissed on the notion diabetics especially need a good diet.

You obviously didn't listen to the clip posted.  He said "unless you eat right insulin is doing you no good".    That is patently false.

People with type 1 diabetes cannot go “insulin free” no matter how carefully controlled their diet. But it’s not a stupid question. Before the discovery of insulin, the only treatment for type 1 diabetes was the “starvation diet” which consisted of an extremely low-calorie diet and regular exercise. It extended the lives of diabetes patients, but not by much, and they didn’t live particularly nice lives. So be grateful for the fact that we have insulin injections, and keep injecting

You are right.  I didn’t watch the clip and didn’t watch the debate either as I said.  Wasn’t responding to the clip either.

And Walker isn’t correct either about it “doing no good”.    However in the context of limiting disease progression, a healthy diet is extremely important.   Insulin isn’t a eat whatever the f#&% you want card for diabetics.  Both are needed in many cases.

My guess is he is making a case for healthy nutrition, which is not a bad thing.  Though I’m sure some poster will try and make that argument against him.

If this is what is getting people frothy, he must not have done too bad I guess.

"I'm quoted as saying 'I defend him' but I really don't defend him. Instead what I really meant to do was randomly interject health advice into a thread about the 2022 congressional elections where Walker is completely wrong about the benefits of insulin because I've never felt the need to defend each and every Republican fail before and now I'm backpedaling because I finally watched the clip and can't possibly admit I was wrong."
