Pennhusker
Still another half to play. Iowa is gonna come out with more inspiration in the second half. Not turning the ball over will be a key to the 2nd half. Not letting iowa get momentum. We have nothing to play for other than pride. I wouldn’t be surprised if iowa makes it a game 2 Quote Link to comment

It was 3rd and 25, and then it was 4th down. Another play or two wasn’t going to get NU anything else. I’m talking about a minute prior. From like the 1:35 to 45 second mark was poorly managed and didn’t leave us with much cushion Quote Link to comment

Get enough first downs to run the first half out, and not give the ball back to Iowa. That was accomplished. 2. Get into field goal position. Thompson had a first down pass, nullified by an offensive holding, or NU is in position to try for a FG. 3. If possible, try to score 7, but not be super risky with turnovers or getting Casey injured. Exactly. First priority was not to punt. We get the ball back to start the half up three scores. 1 Quote Link to comment
ColoradoHusk
I still don’t like getting super aggressive in that situation and risk a turnover or injury. Quote Link to comment

We drive it down their throats, its over Living in the past is good. Have fun with that. Been here the last 20. Nice work! The past. Dominating Colorado 17-0 and lose. The past. Last week 14-3 with 15 to play and lose to Wisconsin. ...could go on and on. You should know there's no lead, with this team, that is safe. Quote Link to comment

This team doesn't know how to win. We're getting the ball first in the second half. Being aggressive there and maybe scoring sets the tone for going for the throat and not leaving the door open. Your mindset is part of the overall issue with this team in my opinion. That's playing not to lose. Quote Link to comment
ColoradoHusk
If NU does anything but fair catch this opening kickoff in the 2nd half, I will lose my mind. Quote Link to comment

That's playing not to lose. But I would say that the reason NU doesn’t know how to win is poor execution, not being aggressive or not. Why have trust in the 2 minute drill when it hasn’t been run well in how many years? There’s a time to be “aggressive” and there’s a time to be prudent. 1 Quote Link to comment

Pennhusker
I’m guessing iowa comes out looking to run the ball in the 2nd half. No reason for them to abandon the run game. Stop w the penalties and turnovers and force nebraska to play disciplined football. See if you can make them quit. My guess anyway, not saying it will or will not work Quote Link to comment
