  1. Not 100% scientific, but I ponder if NU prefers their verbals to come on separate days to give that one kid individual attention and it’s speculated that there are more commits to come. With that said, who is next up today?

If true it's a great idea to give every commit their day in the spotlight.

Yeah I noticed that too especially last year it seemed like it. I don't think we see anymore until Moten but I could be wrong.

  2. Got a question in the lounge, if you would be inclined to offer your opinion. Thank you

  3. Got two different GBRs walking though Prague today, the fiancé rolled her eyes! Haha

Awesome...I got a couple last week while in Playa del Carmen.  They came from an ISU fan and a Mizzou fan.

Nice! Never been, but that sounds like a great trip to go on too!

  4. I’m critical of Erstad the last 5 years, but this may actually be his best coaching year yet. They had a good start to the season, outside of getting swept by OSU, and got back on track these last few weekends after a rough April/early May. If they can put some work in next week and just show up for a chance at super regional bid, I’ll be excited to see what’s to come with the youth of this team

Thank you for sharing. That all makes sense as to why he went with that lineup and I don’t fault him. What I will question is when you know these percentages are stacked against you, baseball is a game of percentages, then what are you going to do differently to adjust? Drag bunt down the first baseline as the lefty falls off the mound away from the bunt, get runners on and bunt and run or slap bunt? Choke up on the bat and move up and on in the box? Maybe they do teach those things, but it wasn’t working yesterday.

What I like is that he recognizes their weaknesses and doesn’t shy away from addressing it publicly. Your opponent theoretically should already know your weaknesses, if you yourself can’t talk about a glaring problem, then you’re just fooling yourself.

All great points SH! Like most players, I think coaches can get in a rut and have a hard time making a change or seeing the light. Perhaps he patterns his style after coaches he has had at the pro level and maybe that pattern only works well with elite players. I The slate is wiped clean and it's time to get ready for the national tournament. I hope they play well.

  5. Lost my wallet Saturday between Mouth of the South parking lot, my brothers truck, and my house and pretty sure it was in the parking lot after tearing up the truck and house. Not a lot of cash in there, a few gift cards, but mainly concerned about replacing my license, my CCW, and my debit card. Flying overseas next Friday too, so hopefully they don’t get crazy if all I have is my passport. Shoot, I also had 30¢ off my next fill-up at Kroger gas stations

Caveat Emptor. Global Entry is great, no doubt about it.  But it does not always guarantee the precheck line skipping.  In most instances it will.  But on a rare occasion you will be forced into the regular line with the rest of the plebes.  It's never happened to be personally but I've flown with coworkers it has happened to.  Still worth it if you get plucked once or twice if you fly often.

    4. Enhance

      Enhance

@darkhorse85 that actually just happened to me on our way back from Puerto Vallarta. My mother-in-law and wife also have Global Entry and we had no issues leaving the country, but on the way back, I got the ridiculous SSSS designation (for reasons I still don't understand). So, my pre-check didn't work at all on the way back, but the expressed customs portion did.

I was reading a popular travel blogger's website and he said he once flew Delta, got the SSSS, and it didn't disappear for months despite calls to his senators offices, the airlines, etc. Eventually it just disappeared. I didn't have it happen until I flew Delta, too, so I hope it's not a recurring theme the next time I travel.

I like the talent on the team, they are young with a ton of potential. When they put it together, I think they can play with most teams, if they can put on a run through rest of conference, they can catch fire in the conference tournament.

  8. In the previous 47 innings, Chris Sale allowed a total of 7 runs against the Mariners. Today he gets chased after giving up 7 runs in 3ip. Can’t and won’t get excited this early, but dang this feels great!

      Xmas32

Mariners still on pace for 162-0.  I'm just saying...

  9. Hah, some things just never change. Listening to the Murray St game on the radio and the broadcaster is criticizing a Marquette player for dribbling and not just going up to the rim when under the hoop. That player is Ed Morrow. He has now done it again while typing this. Yikes.

  10. James Taylor, heckuva show. The girlfriend and I tried to bring the median age down, but we were definitely the outliers

They performed at the PBA, so happy the girlfriend surprised me with tickets. I never realized how connected he was to other 60s and 70s musicians. Seems like a very genuine guy and enjoyed the stories behind the songs

  14. Following my schools playoff game on Gamecast against Nicholls and none other than Kendall Bussey totin the rock a few times this game.

  15. Prettt cool seeing in-state kids pass up a scholarship to a ND, SD, or WY school to come walk-on at Nebraska. Give it 3-4 years and watch these walk-ons develop and stabilize the program in a way that will eliminate a JUCO or two from each class. We already have good walk-on players, but the Frost effect will bring more top state talent to Lincoln, scholarship or not.

      TonyStalloni

I'm glad to see it happening as well.  The 3 you mentioned plus Ohio and Northern Iowa have done well attracting Nebraska kids.  Plus the Hawkeyes have poached a few.

  16. Bahe surprised by Iowa’s inability to run the B1G west this year with all their talent. Earth to Bahe, Iowa is who we thought they were. Don’t understand how people continue to be surprised by their mediocrity when they’ve only had four 10 win seasons in the last 30 years.

  18. Quietest game I’ve ever been to. Sad to see that too many fans are as fickle as the players we complain about not buying in. As a guy behind us said, “I think too many fans show up to keep their streak alive than stand behind the team and make difference.”

True JJ and I agree. It actually got louder at that point than it was in the first half haha. I know I am venting frustration, but I think it’s fair to say that both the team and fans could give more effort

    3. JJ Husker

      JJ Husker

We can agree on that. Hopefully the team will take the lead by eliminating some of the costly mistakes. Doesn't seem like it should be that difficult to stop the head shakers.

    4. 4skers89

      4skers89

They were louder than I figured they would be.  I thought the team needed to start well and continue to play well to give them something to cheer about otherwise it would be quiet.  Good for the fans.

  21. Recently rediscovered two old phones from 2008-2010 and 2010-2012 and charged them up to see what was on them. Fortunately, nothing too incriminating, unless you count the music I downloaded and listened to during my hip-hop and r&b days haha. Anybody else come across these time capsules?

Seeing how Schaefer, Josh Peterson, Jack Mitchell all have tweeted about it and quote retweeted, couldn’t tell if there is an inside joke or not.

Its a nice pickup, but just curious if it’s legit hype. The reports heralding his recruiting ranking leaves me wondering “who cares?” 5* transfer QBs are the trend these days.

  23. So I met Bill Moos and his wife at work recently and aside from the super friendly nature everyone has mentioned, After sharing my Eastern Washington connection he asked where I grew up in Washington, I was surprised to learn that we went to the same high school and some of his connections over lapped my childhood experiences. Small world.

This would possibly work, as long as there's a way to ensure outfits like Fox News don't hire an Indian tech outfit to spam results their way and make it one verified person = one vote.

That, and you can see the person's voting history, so if they're just going around pumping up excrement like Alex Jones, they can be flagged for review.
