Yea, it's likely the best site for keeping up with books. Also I like that some authors are pretty active there.

St Paul, have you read anything by Martin Cruz Smith? He wrote Gorky Park (which was made into a movie), and several others about the Russian Detective, Arkady Renko. He's one of my fav authors.
