I relate to that comment a lot ZRod.  I loved the Royce and Shamrock days.  I loved the Hughes and Liddell days, but such a huge portion of the fan base became so obnoxious I just lost interest.

Not that a large portion of boxing fans aren't obnoxious, but they're obnoxious about not giving quality fighters credit.  Especially because there seems to be a lot of racial tribalism.  Which is f'ing stupid. That's not a problem that's exclusive to boxing fans, though.  They're not hung up on non-boxers being worse than boxers at boxing.

When I was a kid we would get up early just to watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade.

I remember, it used to be an actual parade. My favorite as a kid was the Underdog balloon.

Clemson, Alabama, Oklahoma, Georgia, Ohio State and Oregon.

Oregon is the only one outside of the top 10 preseason so fairly boring guess.

My potential sleeper teams:

Indiana, Utah and Cincinnati.

Nebraska

OU for sure, OSU, bama...  I really like this n carolina team with mack brown.  Good team, great QB.  Will challenge clemson.  Also think southern cal has an easy path, doesn't play oregon or washington.  USC does have to play Arizona State (awesome offense and trending up), notre dame (a bit down) and byu - all towards end of season.  Iowas state is real good.  Texas A&M is real good.  LSU will be back on track.  Georgia has week a$$ schedule, and could run the board after the kickoff game vs clemson.  Should be a fun year.  Then toss in cincy and coastal carolina and g5 schools.

What sucks about this coach talk is that it doesn't mean anything to us in the short term as fans. Once we have our guy, Scott Frost, be it Saturday, Sunday, Monday or Tuesday or whenever, the long process or rebuilding the team will begin. That will happen outside of our view. We won't see the Huskers suit up for a real game for nine months and one could argue that we won't see the full effect of the Frost hire for 1,000 plus days. I am happy that we seem to have a direction but geez, this is going to take a while. Might as well settle in already.

Correlation doesn't necessarily equal causation. 

If Scott Frost was a Florida or Tennessee alum we very likely wouldn't be in this situation. 

Perhaps if UCLA didn't get off the pot Florida would have swayed Chip enough.

It's not a good thing that Moos let things get as bad as they did under Riley.  Maybe Bray could have circled the wagons enough to at least save us from the worst season literally every single person on this board can remember, given his coaching style.  For all Riley's positive characteristics, he's not a motivator.
