  1. Yeah, he was fun to watch in the Spring Game. I was hoping that was a snapshot of his upward progress, turned out to be his highlight reel. Hope he finds a fit and gets to produce on the field. Good luck to him.
  2. How's Coffeyville Community College work into the equation? I remember Mike Rozier wen there before coming to Nebraska at the direction of TO.
  3. Pretty much my plan too. Wanna hang out and talk about how Bo would have done it better?
  4. I'd be surprised too but for different reasons. Brent Venables and Phil Parker are the only DCs in Top 25 with more the 4 years at their schools (it was a quick scan but I think I got the count right). Looks like LSU is getting tight with purse strings, Dave Aranda was pulling $2.5M.
  5. There's a little more to it than that. They have to make progress in their core classes. They can't just pad their schedule with 100 level classes. Last summer a UMich academic counselor was on the radio talking about how she helps kids. She said it can be difficult for athletes to change majors because of the required progress with core requirements. Say you start as an civil engineer and you have the required core going into your junior year, it might be possible to change to EE or ChemE. Switching to journalism would be almost impossible and stay academically eligible. The engineering core doesn't overlap the j-school core enough to be able to meet the required core hours. So break the law, break school or team rules, or go against social norms and you can overcome your mistakes and play. Choose the wrong major and you're stuck. Just another instance of where the NCAA rules suck.
  6. This sucks, I've got plans that night. Can someone dvr it for me?
  7. Carlos and Khalil Davis https://www.shrinegame.com/west-roster
  8. I'm so done with Scott Frost. Just added to my list, "Lack of coach loyalty," and "Lack of consistency with assistant coach." The list also includes: No fullbacks on the roster Too many sideways passes Not starting McCaffrey Missed on Joe Burreaux Call me when the new head coach is announced. (do I need a sarcasm tag?)
  9. Look at next seasons opponents, 5 are in the lower left quadrant and another 4 are in the lower right quadrant. Aint gonna easy this fall.
  10. You can get a pretty good feel for what an analyst can and can't do from the first 4 or 5 questions in this interview with Missouri's Ted Monachino: https://www.stltoday.com/sports/college/mizzou/what-s-an-analyst-do-on-a-college-football-staff/article_8641f742-c227-5c57-9d0e-22514a089ad3.html In a nutshell, he can be on the practice field but can't directly coach players, can interact with staff; he can be in the booth but can't wear a head set, can talk face to face with coaches in the booth; can talk with players off the field including film study.
  11. Snitches get stitches. This guy would have brought down the whole country scholarship program.
  12. Would you get rid of the Foster Farms Bowl and the Music City Bowl?
  13. Norris must have turned the ball over a lot if an o-lineman has 32 tackles...
  14. What's that German exchange students name that went to Norris (or was it Tri-County?) and Colorado State? He's trying to get a hardship waiver as CSU fired their oline coach. If he doesn't get it, obviously he will red shirt and won't play next fall. If he gets a waiver, does he see the field next fall? My guess: we're too deep at guard for him to come in and win a starting position or a regular rotation spot. He'll play 4 games, probably mostly ST, and take his red shirt. EDIT: Nouredin Nouili is his name.
  15. Trudy is the real Rose Bowl Game Presented by Northwestern Mutual MVP. The sky mirroring off the Ducks metallic helmets looked pretty damn cool
  16. I'm 45 minutes from Spartan Stadium so the Wake Forest-MSU game was an interesting game to me. WF leads the country in plays per game with 83. Their uptempo play is fun to watch. It seemed like they got the snap off with 25 seconds or more on the clock 90% of the time. Ultimately size and talent won the game for MSU. FWIW: The Skers are 27th with 74 snaps per game. A wrinkle in the stats shows we 2nd in away games with 84 s/g. We're in the top quarter so I'd rate Frost and Co's promise of uptempo 'mostly true'.
  17. This Planned Parenthood ad doesn't close. Why is it so hard not to piss people off with these non stop ads? Max, is there ever going to be enough ads?
  18. Merry Christmas and Husker New Year (I even dug up the Christmas profile pic, thx @KnappIc!)
  19. Berns set the single game rushing record when he was a junior. He had an injury mid way through his senior year and IM Hipp started in his place. Hipp broke Bern's record. Never take a day off. Ever. The first two Husker fans I met treated me like a baby and called me names. To be fair, they were my parents. But Clemson? https://rubbingtherock.com/2019/08/01/clemson-football-tiger-twitter-fan-base-named-no-3-worst-cfb/
  20. A reliable field goal kicker would help a ton too.
  21. The stats bare this all out. The defense has improved in almost every category with the exception of red zone defense (53rd in 2018, 122nd 2019). The offense has fallen off in most categories. Rushing offense is pretty much where it was last year, it's the passing stats that have stymied the total offense and scoring offense stats. The drop off in the red zone is even worse for the offense than the defense, finishing the at 116th, down from 26th last year. 2019 2018 2017 2016 2015 Total Offense 59 25 87 90 34 Scoring Offense 74 57 84 79 43 Rushing Offense 31 28 119 73 52 Passing Offense 84 51 27 86 33 Team Passing Efficiency 76 61 78 99 66 First Downs Offense 46 54 95 67 37 3rd Down Conversion Pct 58 85 89 33 24 4th Down Conversion Pct 97 101 79 37 23 Red Zone Offense 115 26 110 82 18 Total Defense 64 94 100 30 64 Scoring Defense 67 88 115 33 76 Rushing Defense 94 96 114 43 9 Passing Yards Allowed 34 78 60 49 121 Team Passing Efficiency Defense 29 34 95 30 78 First Downs Defense 75 84 95 18 39 3rd Down Conversion Pct Defense 74 103 99 41 24 4th Down Conversion Pct Defense 35 92 62 49 14 Red Zone Defense 123 53 102 73 52 Turnover Margin 66 83 106 34 117 Net Punting 39 79 42 123 45 Punt Returns 61 59 85 78 42 Kickoff Returns 108 125 31 47 116 Fewest Penalties Per Game 20 114 78 55 105 Fewest Penalty Yards Per Game 18 116 99 62 99 Time of Possession 94 111 52 26 20
  22. The 3 seasons previous to the 0-12 season, UCF was 37-9 with 3 conference rings and a Fiesta Bowl (not Orange Bowl) win over #6 Baylor.
