I just did a complete survey of the college football landscape and the consensus is that Colorado coming off a 1-11 season pulled off an impressive upset against a ranked team. Despite having played for the national championship just months ago, TCU was rated #17, taking into account the loss of key players. Still, by all accounts a Colorado team starting the season with 80 new players assembled on the fly were given a formidable test by opening against TCU on the road. It's just one game, but Colorado met and even exceeded the hype.

So now Colorado is the biggest story in college football, based on its celebrity coach, the high caliber offense showed in its first game, the son of the coach setting a school passing record, and a legitimate two-way football player living up to his Heisman hype. You don't have to like it, but that's the way it is.

So now we gotta decide: if we shouldn't make a big deal about it if Nebraska loses to Colorado, do we still get to make a big deal about it if we win?

One game shows that the program is turned around?  OK...they got a win and that's good for them.  But....I fail to see how the turnaround is complete and everything is fantastic based on one game.  And...I fail to see how the Huskers are a complete dumpster fire and Rhule is a failure based on one game.

Football doesn't work like that.

I don't suspect anything is complete, but it has been a dramatic turnaround for Colorado thus far. There's no reason that much can't be gleaned from one game.

Right, except when you're making snap judgments about TCU after 1 week of football.

I literally haven't done that I have said multiple times we don't know what kind of team TCU is after this game given their record volatility and loss of production on both sides of the ball. They are not the team they were last year as they lost starters at most key positions. Declaring Colorado has made some massive turnaround because they beat TCU is making a snap judgment. We do not know if TCU is any good. Maybe they are but maybe they aren't and same goes for Colorado, Minnesota, and Nebraska as well.

You literally declared Sanders is a better coach than the one we hired and the reason we didn't hire Sanders is because Nebraska is racist...after one game coached at the power 5 level. If that isn't a snap judgment I'm not sure what is.

If we can conclude TCU isn't the same team as last year then we can also conclude Colorado isn't the same team as last year.  One is as much of a snap judgment as the other.  You're trying to have it both ways by talking yourself in circles.

To be fair, I declared all that about Sanders, and Nebraska snubbing him, long before he ever coached a game at Colorado.   Now I'm just saying I told you so.  Nothing would please me more than for Rhule to prove me wrong in a few days.  There's no reason at all Nebraska's turnaround should take longer than Colorado's.  Sanders took over a worse team than Rhule did.

If you look at what Colorado was last year, and look at their one win this year, there's no question at all they've turned things around to some degree.  They broke what?  More than a dozen school records already?  First road win against a ranked opponent in a couple decades?  To pretend we can't learn anything from an amazing turnaround like that is willful ignorance.

Dude it is one freaking game. That is the whole point of everything I have been saying. Good win sure but it does not carry the weight you are giving it.

We don't know who Colorado is yet we don't know who TCU is yet there are only a handful of teams in the country you really know what you are getting for the most part especially with transfer portal. We have one piece of information so far and it is not enough to decide one way or another who is good and who is not and if a program is turned around.

Colorado looked good for a bit under Mel Tucker too then he dipped after 1 year and they continued to suck. Colorado could win 9 games in the fashion they did Saturday and I still would not consider their program turned around. We won 9 games under Mike Riley. It takes more than a game or even a season to actually turn the tides at a program and set them up for success year after year. One good game or one good year does not mean the next will be and that has been proven countless times over and over.

You are over here waxing on about Colorado and how we messed up and got the wrong coach. I do not like Colorado I refuse to give them credit even if they might deserve it. I support our University and the coach we hired who by the way has a proven track record at the Division 1 level. I do not believe for 1 second the idea that we didn't hire Deion Sanders because of the color of his skin. You can keep trying to convince me and everyone else here Colorado is awesome and made the right decision while we made the wrong one but you aren't going to get much support for those ideas on this message board. Or at least not from me!

Rhule can go out and win at Colorado Saturday to ease a lot of this talk. People also need to realize that we brought in a lot of young players for the near future. Sanders brought in ungodly amount of transfers with experience to win now. It doesn't mean he can't keep it up, but just two different approaches. I can tell you I'd rather have Kent St's old HC as OC than Satterfield at this point.
