The freshman Nebraska QB had some ups and downs but overall he showed what everyone in Lincoln wanted — arm talent, accuracy, and most importantly composure. He’s going to be thrown to the wolves and will have some rough moments, but he should get better each week and has the talent around him to have a very good first year.

Pretty sure that has to be the biggest reason.  He decommitted right as the rumbling started that Beck was going to come back for another year.

A buddy of mine who worked security for the professional Omaha volleyball game told me he met DR and talked to him. Very nice kid. One thing that surprised him is he is not as big as how the media describes him. He said at most he is 6 foot and 2 inches tall and weighs no more than 200. That’s not bad or anything. It just again tells you how often how kids coming out of high school are not as big as listed.

He’s got some tree trunks.  No way he’s sub-200.

NU roster say 6’3” and 230 lbs.

 

I could see them inflating his height an inch or 2, but they aren’t adding 30 lbs.
