Trev to A&M

Recommended Posts

And I have to add, damn few people in Nebraska actually care about what he did at UNO. Football. Volleyball. Basketball. At the flagship University in Lincoln. That is what people really care about. You might generally say that is all they care about. So, imo, this talk of he was disliked by some for what transpired at UNO is extremely minor in the grand scheme.

Agreed. Carter left to go to that Liberal bastion of Ohio. And Albert’s left for the liberal bastion of Texas.

just stop with that crap.

The length of time to find a President doesn’t seem out of line either.

it is starting to appear that Trev didn’t like who they wanted to hire and left.

Someone posted earlier and it seems like it was pretty accurate. "People don't quit jobs, they quit bosses"

And to me that is pretty petty.  The employee doesn't get to hire their boss.  Could you imagine the problems that would create!

Not to say they don't have input, but it's not their decision to make.

Trev = coward.

It really is beginning to look that way.  Again, maybe in a few years we can look back and see that he was Nostradamus, but at least stick around and work with the new guy before bailing on your Alma Mater

It sounds like that the Interim President might be getting the Interim tag removed.  And he doesn't agree with the half a billion dollar stadium renovation. (which is a bit excessive as most have stated.)  Trev got pissed and took his ball and ran to a place where they throw money around like a drunken millionaire at a strip joint.

I am hearing Trev really wanted to have a shot at being President of UNL and the regents etc...would not give him an interview. So this feelings were hurt and he ran.  There is also another scandal may hit us in the next month or so and it will not paint UNL in a good light.  TIFWIW.

It's not about the politics per se, which is a symptom of a greater problem, it's about the incompetence of the people in leadership (which is a common trend). You don't drive away 3 different people, in 3 different positions of leadership, from vastly different backgrounds, who are all well respected because you have quality leadership above them... Like you said, who did they all report to?

It isn't worth anything unless you elaborate.

The employee doesn't get to hire the boss, but the employee doesn't have to stay if he doesn't like the boss(es). The two key figures he signed on to lead "under" were Carter and Green. Green left, the Board of Regents changed the structure to have the AD directly report to the President (Carter). Carter leaves, "interim" President inserted who Trev doesn't align with and Trev bails. There is probably more nuance to the decisions made, but on the surface it appears that Trev didn't like his new boss and didn't see a path where their visions could line up together.

I hope the Regents strongly evaluate who they end up signing on as the University President.

There's a way to do things and a way to not do things. I will grant (and this will be the last time I bring this up ITT in order to not derail) that it wouldn't of mattered because Denney hated Trev's guts.

Sooooooo you don't care?

The conservatives in Texas aren't trying to take control of the Universities. Think about for a second that these people are dumber than Texas politicians and that should tell you all you need to know.

It doesn't matter who they report to.

Greene retired after a very long run

Carter left for a top gig in the entire country

Alberts left for a top gig in the entire country (that throws around money like a drunken sailor)

They left for other reasons other than what some keep implying.

UNL is not a top gig in the country. it can be top 10, but it is not top 3 or even top 5
