Mavric
Might (hopefully) see less of this going forward: Brian Christopherson @HuskerExtraBC 12m Pelini likes Armstrong in the run game, but added: "I wish he wouldn't try to hurdle guys." #Huskers Quote Link to comment

No need for it against a mid-major when the game is pretty much over. Quote Link to comment
Count 'Bility
True that. Supposedly Mariotta got his butt chewed for doing something similar against Wyoming saturday as well. Quote Link to comment

BigRedBuster
I find it interesting that coaches don't want them jumping. In the world of field turf and as many knee problems we have that are possibly caused by cleats getting caught in the turf...etc. I cringe more when a DB comes up and goes for their legs and their feet are still on the ground. Dr. Strangelove
I really like how TA is running the ball this year. But he needs to stop trying to jump over people. See Brett Hundley. Exactly. You can tell he looks a bit quicker and faster running the ball this season compared to last year. But he needs to learn to protect himself when running the ball. No need to leap or lower your shoulder for that extra yard, it isn't worth it for any player let alone our starting QB. Quote Link to comment

If he could hit the broad side of a barn on short passes and learned how to check down. Until then, he's a guy that can run the option and throws a pretty ball. Let me know when he can throw an effective ball. 2 Quote Link to comment

QMany
Husker QB Tommy Armstrong is a runner on the rise: http://www.omaha.com/huskers/husker-qb-tommy-armstrong-is-a-runner-on-the-rise/article_b3d9efc3-173b-5443-a55d-d10d3c9e4d00.html “A lot of guys have stacked the box in the first three games to stop me, and we need Tommy to be someone who can counter that, someone who can pull the ball and be an effective runner,” Abdullah said. Jon Nyatawa @JonNyatawa 7s Tommy Armstrong's averaging 9.56 yds per carry, which is 7th nationally & tops among QBs. 11 of his 27 attempts have gone for 10+ yds 1 Quote Link to comment

I more vividly remember an opponent hitting him, him turning into a log and then awkwardly falling to the turf. Perhaps that's what you're referencing. I'm not sure if he was being coached to do that or if it was just what he did. But, he pretty regularly looked awkward when getting tackled. As a QB, you want to try to minimize injury by sliding, going out of bounds and even going down quickly if someone sacks you. Martinez just went down quickly in a funny way. 1 Quote Link to comment
