TheSker
Lots of teams have an injured starting LB, not many of them give up 400+ to one runningback. It's surprising, but maybe it shouldn't be since I just watched the 2012 CCG last night. Today was basically a replay, and here we are blaming the players again when it's different players, but the same coach. If only we had Steinkuhler . . . "An" injured starting MLB is the small issue.....a lack of talent at LB across the board is the bigger issue. Recruiting, scheming and talent are all responsibilities of Pelini.......so your jab at the coach is not exactly a news flash. Quote Link to comment
HuskerInLostWages
Why not try for Tressel or even Gruden? We have the cash in the coffers....just spitballin here. But I think the Pelini era is Give me Tressel I do believe we could get Tressel. He wants to coach and has proven he can coach. Quote Link to comment

Danny Bateman
You're fighting an uphill battle here defending him theSker. You can't excuse away piss-poor run fits and assignment play by the back 7 by saying we had a deficit at LB coming into the year. We lost Rose which was huge, and Santos is still probably somewhat hobbled, but we're not so poor off we shouldn't be able to fight Wiscy's front. Northwestern did it for crying out loud. If Bo feels we should be better on offense but knows we aren't... That's how we all feel too! Shocker. But that's HIS call. He handed the keys back to Beck this year. He's now cost Bo's team two losses this year and very nearly a third against McNeese. It was Bo's call that Beck was the guy to run the offense, and he should be held accountable if the offense looks totally lost right now, 1 Quote Link to comment

We are not very good at OL or LB. Decision makers.....the AD and boosters.....are aware of the direction Pelini has taken the talent issue. They had to approve the $$. Quote Link to comment
Count 'Bility
Western Illinois held Gordon to 38 yards on 17 carries. Northwestern held Wisconsin to 14 points. Quote Link to comment

T_O_Bull
Why not try for Tressel or even Gruden? We have the cash in the coffers....just spitballin here. But I think the Pelini era is done. Here’s the problem with Gruden. Here are his last six seaons in coaching: 7-9 5-11 11-5 4-12 9-7 9-7 One good season in six. Gruden is clearly a product of hype. Would not want him. Would substantially prefer Bill Cowher. FORGET Gruden! Don't even bring up his name again. Why would he leave a cushy job at ESPN to work 60/70 hours a week in Lincoln, NE? Don't delude yourself its not going to happen. T_O_B Quote Link to comment
amezu29674
I remember a Craig Bohl led defense that allowed 62 points. So personally I'm going with no. 1 Quote Link to comment

BigWillie
Dan Mullen is options 1, 2, and 3 for me. Before someone asks - why would he leave? Very easy .. SEC West or Big 10 West. You compete against Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, aTm and LSU yearly. Or you come here and compete against Wisconsin, and maybe Iowa when they have a decent season every once in a while. Mullen could easily live in the CCG each and every season. Young, hungry coach who tirelessly recruits, and embraces the fan base. Would be a 180 from what we have right now. 1 Quote Link to comment
