Ryker Fyfe Broken Wrist - Armstrong still out...

Recommended Posts

Iowa is sitting at 7-4. However, their last two games they lost were to the #10 and #12 team in the country. They then went and beat the #3 team. The really big black eye on their record was North Dakota State but that was 10 weeks ago and NDS is knows to rise up and knock off Div 1 teams. They are not your average 1AA team.

This team is a good team that might very well beat us even if we had Tommy healthy.

This QB situation is going to be really interesting. Would you rather have Tommy that can't run because of a bad hammy or Fyfe with a bad wrist?

Their run D the past few games has really shored up. We might need to pass like we did against Maryland to open the running game and get Iowa out of the box. Unsure how well this will be if he has to use one arm..... Or try 2 back sets. Read again how injuries to our OL have really prevented us from running a lot of the counters or traps.....Unsure how healthy they will be. I imagine they will sell out against the run and send the house against an injured Ryker or TA.....

Maybe Darlington will be ready to go with a limited set of plays that he can execute in his sleep. Langs did a good job getting plays called that Ryker could execute. Maybe the same for Darlington. It will be a bruising physical game for sure. Would be great to have a couple of options.

Lastly, Kudos to Fyfe for gutting it out. Might be the reason for the offensive drop off later in the game.....
