Popular Post Redux
It means jack squat. Seriously, it means nothing. Congrats to him and his team. Hell of a run, shows that he is a good fit there right now. I'm more interested to see if he can sustain the success after 2 years or if it will sputter out like it did here. Hopefully he learned from his mistakes and now understands how to build off momentum and utilize it for future seasons. Ya know what it doesn't mean? It doesn't mean we didn't need a change. It doesn't mean Bo would have been any more successful here than he already was. It doesn't mean anything in regards to Nebraska's 2016 season. Bo has found a higher level of success at a smaller/lower pressure job in his 9th season as a head coach. That's all it means. Good for him. Now, can we get back to dreading our bowl game? 12 Quote Link to comment
Moiraine
Pelini himself said he tried to leave Nebraska from 2011 on. It's irrelevant what he does at future jobs. 1 Quote Link to comment
BoNeyard
Heard he said YSU was back and they were there to stay after the win. 3 Quote Link to comment
mrandyk
I wouldn't bother raising any concerns over Pelini having success elsewhere unless it happens at a level comparable to the Big 10/12. There is a LONG list of coaches who have been successful at the FCS level only to fall flat on their face at the next level. 1 Quote Link to comment
BIG ERN
7 years to win a conference title..... made it 3 times, but went 0/3. Riley will need to win the West either next year or 18' -then win the B10 by 2019 season (when his contract is up) or he can see the door. Sad to think we are coming up on 20 years without a conference title... 20!!! 1 Quote Link to comment

JJ Husker
It means jack. However, it could sort of payoff for Nebraska if he gets a raise or a higher paying job because of it. That could reduce the amount we have left to pay on his contract. So,go Bo. 2 Quote Link to comment
lo country
A former guy, associated with NU is doing well. Good for Bo. But still doesn't do anything to justify or vilify the firing. Sometimes, stuff don't work out. Es lo que es..... 2 Quote Link to comment
BigRedBuster
As to the title..... Absolutely nothing. Quote Link to comment

Redux
It means nothing... Sadly...so does the current hire Yet he's one win away from having a better season than Bo did in 7 years....even with two blowout losses. See how easy that was? Quote Link to comment

See how easy that was? 10-3 without a conference championship game is not better than 10-4 with a conference championship loss. That said this is Riley's 2nd season. 1 Quote Link to comment
