He still went 3-7 versus Saban. Riley would be 0-10 for sure. If Saban is an A+, Miles is an A- or a B+ at minimum. Riley is a C+ at BEST.. as we are seeing. Anyone who wouldn't take Les Miles over Riley needs serious help. Granted, Miles is not a 'nice guy' like Riley... in that he is more like Bo... but he WINS, which is something Riley certainly can't say. Miles lost his winning touch. He would be a step down from Riley 1 Quote Link to comment

Not the 0.54 winning percentage that Mike Riley has in college in the fairly lame Pac12. Even Miles at his worst would be better than Riley at his best. But feel free to believe things that are completely belied by the facts and numbers... the rest of us will just go on the data thanks.... or at least I will. Quote Link to comment

Hm... which is weirder: Firing a coach in the middle of summer after a good season A coach retiring in the middle of summer from a program The former, imo. All the latter requires is one multi-millionaire to decide he wants to lounge around in his PJs instead of work 16 hour days for fans who think 10, 11, 12 wins aren't enough as long as he's not winning another national championship. Bieliema can win in the Big 10. He has a proven track record in the Big 10 Venables is a great name, but he hasn't proven really anything other than coaching defenses at schools with a great recruiting Head coaches. You can pick apart any name that gets thrown out. Really, unless your Urban Meyer, Nick Saban or Dabo Swinney you have some flaws right now. Yes, any person thrown out may have their flaws. What we need to do is a cost/benefit analysis to decide whether their perceived flaws are worse/better than our current head coach's flaws. Quote Link to comment

Results on the field aren't the only thing a coach can be forced out for. To me, Stoops's 'retirement' felt like a Pete Carroll/Chip Kelly exit: something's been going on off the field, so they get out before they're forced out. Quote Link to comment
Nebfanatic
LES MILES AND BOB STOOPS ARE NOT AVAILABLE TO COACH AT UNL. CAN WE PLEASE STOP CLAMORING FOR THESE 2, THEY ARE DONE WITH COACHING AND WILL NOT BE UNRETIRING TO TAKE THIS JOB 1 Quote Link to comment
Blackshirt316
I want Chris Pedersen. He'd come for $7M a year. If our administration isn't willing to pay that they should be fired. Quote Link to comment

Melby
Sorry, but Chris Peterson isnt leaving Washington. He turned down USC with a similar offer. Peterson wanted to go to a place without super high expectations and found it at UW. Quote Link to comment

Hayseed
Why hasn't anyone mentioned Dan Hawkins? He is without question the nicest coach in football.....maybe in the history of team sports. Quote Link to comment
