Chinander (DC) coached at UNI and Oregon with Frost

 

Austin (OL) grad assistant at Oregon, played at NU

 

Dawson (DL) connected to Frost through Chip Kelly

 

Held (RB) former teammate of Frost, 17 years in coaching 

 

Verduzco (QB) coached at UNI with Frost

 

Raymond (director of player dev) 

same position at Oregon when Frost was there.

 

Dillon (player personnel) from Oregon also

 

Ruud (qca) player at NU, no coaching experience 

 

Haines (off. GA) played at Oregon when Frost coached there

 

Duval (strength) was at NU when Frost played here

 

That leaves 3 coaches on his current staff that he didn’t have ties to.  And 2 of them were at UCF previously.

Connect the dots.  Scott won’t be making any big name, splash hires for assistants.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 There'll be a larger pool of resources to be used to get the assistants Frost wants and put together a group that he thinks is necessary to maximize success. There very well could be more alternates to the staff than is believed.

The past is the past and everybody has grown up.

But those guys are on the radio every week and sometimes every day in the case of DB.  Why can't they be constructively critical like Bishop, Severe, or Bahe?

The wait has been like when I was a kid waiting for Christmas. But this is better, because unlike Christmas when it just gets here and then it is gone, when the day comes Frost is announced, it is just the beginning.

Agreed. What was even cooler was seeing his two National Championship rings from ‘71 and ‘72 plus his two Super Bowl rings from the Raiders. Also, talking with him about the Ghost to Post game where he made 22 tackles. Very humble man who loves TO and the school.

I really like to hope that Scott Frost learned T.O.s method of being "nice" but being tough and demanding at the same time.  I've heard countless stories of players saying that he'd call the into the office and talk about how disappointed he was in their behavior, performance, attitude, leadership or what ever.  They all felt they'd rather take a severe beating than feel they'd disappointed him.  Can't wait to see how it all shakes out these next several years.  And I am sure that Scott Frost, if named head coach, still has a lot of growing to do as well.

How do you all think it will be announced? Will be scheduled somewhat in advanced or kind of like the Riley presser? Maybe Scott holds up the AAC trophy and declare “I’m taking my talents to place where I am from”

The sheer physicality exhibited by NU in the clips with Frost are non-existent today....Obviously highlights, but the from the OL to receivers to even Frost were flat out laying wood.....

Went to school with a huge tight end from back in the day who went on to play for Atlanta.  He was a gentle giant in college (and no good at pool).  Was a customer of his later in life.  It is amazing how much of a profound effect Coach T.O. had on so many of those players.  Life long effects.

This is what happens to HB posters if he changes at the last second.   Edit:  top of page 311, very fitting as I was in the 3/11th ACR.
