Mavric
I was thinking about this earlier today: What are we losing compared to what we are gaining? Looking at the seniors from this past year: Offense : We only lose four (Gaylord looks to be back on a Medical Hardship). Mazour was a walk-on who got a scholarship. Noa, Williams and Woodyard were all transfers with limited impact. Only Woodyard was above a .85 on the Composite when we got them. Neither Woodyard nor Williams earned a rating out of high school. We likely also lose Washington who was a four-star. We replace them with 10 signees. Seven are four-stars - Corcoran, Betts, Fleming, Manning, Smothers, Morrison and Brown. That's pretty good efficiency. Defense: We lose quite a bit, especially on the defensive line. 12 total (counting Ferguson). Jackson, Lee, Anderson and Darrion Daniels were four-stars. Anderson, Ferguson and Vainuku were non-factors. Stovall was a walk-on. We replace them with 10 incoming freshmen and 4 JUCOs. Obviously they thought the JUCOs were needed for immediate help and to balance out the classes a bit. Green, Gray and Francois are four-stars. Kind of a wash on numbers and ratings. Hopefully the four four-stars from 2019 will be ready to see the field this year. 1 1 Quote Link to comment

That’s how I see it. We were talking bout taking 26 if we hit the right kids. So I would assume they will evaluate who did not sign and take a run at a kid or 2. Then snag a transfer or 2. I think the main class addressed needs so these 3 would mostly be best available talent Quote Link to comment
BigRedBuster
So, I believe this is how it all ended up. I'm reading we have a couple more spots to fill in February or over the summer with transfers. I think we could use another TE and maybe an interior lineman. 2019 Recruits are in RED and 2020 are in GREEN. Possible commits are in BLUE. Transfers in PURPLE. Tackle Benhart , Anderson , Corcoran Guard Nouili Center Piper Guard Lynn Tackle Banks , Fritzche , Conn WR Betts Manning , WR Houston , Fleming WR Chase , Nixon , Brown TE Hickman QB McCaffery , Smothers RB Johnson , Thompkins , Mills , Scott Morrison Duck Robinson , Nance DE Newsome , Black NT Green , Hutmacher , Riley DE Robinson , Payne OLB ,Graham , Nelson Cooper Gunnerson , ILB Henrich Snodgrass Greene ILB Hannah ,Reimer OLB Mauga Butler Schlager S Farmer , Gray S , Pola Gates Gifford Francois CB ,Newsome Delancy CB Wright , Lynum The idea was that you need to have at least a two deep roster with every two classes. FYI.....these are not in any depth chart order. 1 Quote Link to comment

But reports are the staff is still planning on 22-25 at this point. Numbers for each position are just my guess right now based on need and current roster. We'll get a better idea what the staff is looking for in the coming months. Just a reminder that my criteria for this list is to try to keep it to guys who seem to be legitimately interested in Nebraska, which in my book mainly means setting up a visit or having us in their Top 5/10/whatever list. There are a ton of guys who say they're interested who never end up even visiting. So the list is pretty small right now but there are a few guys who have put out a favorites list and we'll start to see more as guys visit this spring. I'm sure I've missed a few so let me know if you notice someone. Current Scholarships/Commits QB - 1 - LOGAN SMOTHERS RB - 1-2 - Teriyon Cooper, Reggie Love, Deondre Jackson, Teriyon Cooper WR - 3-4 - Zavier Betts, Xavier Watts, Lawaun Powell, Troy Omeire TE - 1 - OT - 2-3 - Reece Atteberry, Turner Corcoran, Jalen St. John, Jeffrey Persi OG/C - 1-2 - NT - 1-2 - Kevon Billingsley, Nash Hutmacher, Aidan Keanaaina DE - 1-2 - ILB - 2-3 - OLB - 2-3 - Brennon Scott CB - 2-3 - Dontae Manning S - 1-2 - Antinio Johnson, Xavion Alford ATH - Quin Bright While starting to look into the 2021 recruiting thread, I thought it would be interesting to go back and see how 2020 first started out. Here is one of @Mavric's first updates. I don't even remember some of these names. Quote Link to comment

We are good with where we are at with TE and are clear favorites for one of the best in the nation 2021. Interior oline need for the future is eased by our CSU transfer. We are fine here, imo. I see what you're saying and don't disagree. I'm just looking at this and trying to see (if I were a coach) where I would try to plug holes with the couple scholarships available. If we are talking something like a grad transfer or someone who is going to come in as a junior, it really doesn't affect this list. Quote Link to comment

BIG ERN
Here is a better look at it....they don't have Gifford or Nouili listed. Looking at the SRs next season we really will only miss 4 guys. Shows that this team hasn't even started yet under this staff. https://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/recruiting/nebraska-football-scholarship-chart/table_7bf5d0b2-2200-5610-8ce8-585129d0c735.html 1 Quote Link to comment

Of the 16 seniors next season, you think we'll only miss 4? Are you crazy or did I misunderstand? Mills, Stoll, Spielman, Jaimes, Farniok, Stille, Domann, Miller, Honas, Dismuke, Bootle. Maybe you nitpick a few here or there, but that's my list and I got 11. How do you get 4? 3 Quote Link to comment

Not every player on the team is good otherwise we would look a ton better on the field. Quote Link to comment
