You decide

Metric is for dummies?   I have no problem with fractions, because I can math.  :P

Using something that’s more difficult because you’ve always done it that way is what dummies do.

I agree - have always thought he and Michael McDonald sound like they've just chugged a big glass of milk before they sing.

Adult cartoons are stupid.

I liked the first couple seasons of Archer quite a bit, but otherwise, I agree.

Wrong! Off the top of my head: Simpson's (well, back when they were good), Archer, Rick and Morty are all excellent.

Adding the word  "STRONG" behind the name of any city that is dealing with a tragedy.

It was fine with Boston after the bombing.  They created it and used it for the entire saga.  The fact that every city/state since that has dealt with anything (and for that matter that people who are dealing with anything put it behind their or their loved ones' names) is tired and uncreative and it's lost its meaning.

You're welcome for putting that song in your head.

Rick and Morty might be the best show on television right now....I can't even with this thread.

I like to occasionally watch an adult cartoon, but watch nothing regularly.  Come to think of it, I don't really watch any shows regularly.  I don't like to binge watch stuff usually.

The Office is incredibly, massively overrated as a television show. It's not funny, 90% of the characters are sociopaths, and it went on for about 7 seasons too long. Parks and Rec runs laps around it.

Completely agree.

It's unwatchable.

And...I don't like Parks and Rec either.

This might not be unpopular here, but The (US) Office is much better than The (UK) Office.

Ricky Gervais is a chode.

Also Creed is the best character.

NBA free agency (and things happening off the court) are more interesting and fun to talk about than actual NBA games.

I loved the fries - though its been probably 20+ years since Ive had them.

And similarly to when I smell sausage & peppers her on the wast coast at games, I like the smell but could never eat them.

I do dream about Husker Hot Dogs though.  Wont touch a hot dog if its not a Fairbury Frank.

I agree.  Although I did have the philly cheese steak one and some other one back when they were doing variations that I actually thought were decent.

I think one of the biggest problems with the Runza is it always looks... gross. The bread almost never looks like baked bread with the soft interior and crispy exterior, but instead looks mushy/under-cooked. It's literally soggy bread with ground beef, but I think the fact that it has ground beef in it is what makes it so on-brand for Nebraskans.

As marijuana usage becomes more prevalent, incidents like this will be more common.

https://www.espn.com/college-sports/story/_/id/27099320/driver-16-arrested-auburn-announcer-death

The statement said a toxicology analysis from the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences confirmed "the presence of marijuana in Taylor's system.

I don’t expect MADD to change their name to MAID anytime soon since as their article mentions, the technology doesn’t exist to measure level of impairment for any drugs other than alcohol. They’ll continue to push for tougher drunk driving laws and lower the BAC since that is something that can be done and will keep donations coming in.

https://www.madd.org/press-release/madd-statement-on-increase-in-vehicle-collision-insurance-claims-in-states-with-legalized-recreational-marijuana-use/

On June 22, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and the Highway Loss Data Institute (HLDI) released a “Status Report” on the potential effect of legalizing recreational marijuana use on crash rates. The report found that highway crashes (based on crashes of all severities reported to auto insurers) increased by 3 percent overall in three states after the legalization of recreational marijuana use.

Do they/you know what a confounding variable is?

Did the population increase in those states? Did the number of drivers increase in those states? Did the number of highway crashes increase in other states?

Association does not imply causation.

Fireworks are a humongous waste of money.

The same can be said for anything that’s merely for entertainment. Like football. Just depends on how much you’re entertained by it.

Eh, you have a bit of a point. I should have stated that I was talking about purchasing personal fireworks; there's something to be said for fireworks being one step away from just lighting money on fire. However, big firework shows do entertain me.

That's my stance on it too. I don't buy any myself. I think as a kid my favorite firework was the snakes. But I like going to the shows every so often.
