Big Red 40
In every football game there are pivotal moments that decide the game . Whether it be converting a fourth down, converting on 3 and long, a defensive stand ,or a clutch TD catch/run when you need it etc. In this game most of those plays went The Buffs way, and they won the game. This Husker team is much stronger , faster, more aggressive, talented, better coached, and mentally tough than they were last year, and that will eventually lead to wins on the field. They stumbled early but kept playing hard the entire game, and even though they lost to a team they should have beaten, i was proud of this teams resiliency, and toughness. No comparison to last year IMO 1 1 Quote Link to comment
GSG
I learned that as much as some media members like Nebraska, there are still a few that can't wait to s#!t on us Hot Reads: Losses Aren't a Reason for Illogic Quote Link to comment

There’s a difference between comparing coaches and trying to remind everyone on the board how upset you are/were that Riley got fired. 5 Quote Link to comment

If we were typical impatient and ignorant fans it might work. Quote Link to comment

It's what I learned from the CU game, new coaches yet exact same result as last coaches first game. A 28-33 home field loss. I'm an optimist, and I've also been taught those who don't study history, or conveniently choose to ignore it are bound to repeat the same mistakes over and over again. Since there are already some second guessing SF's clock management and undisciplined players after his f?irst game, just like they did with MR, I finished the first post with this: "Give Frost the time and support MR didn't get before raking him over the coals." Why? Because it's a lot easier to turn the wagon around when everyone is pulling in the same direction and singing the same song. 2 Quote Link to comment
Redux
Who are you trying to convince to give Frost time? If you think ANYONE is calling for his head, you're clearly a poor judge of the current vibe of the board. 2 Quote Link to comment
Landlord
I've been off the board and most of the internet for the last week, but from my anecdotal vantage point this is the best I've ever seen Nebraska fans take a loss. It's kind of fun. 3 Quote Link to comment
Mavric
The Good It is a lot of fun to watch Mo Barry play football He and Young are going to be Monsters in the Middle Martinez and Washington are going to leave a lot of lingerie on the deck the next three years Martinez makes things look easy Aaron Williams is going to make a lot of plays this year Our middle seven - DT,DE,DE,ILB,ILB,S,S - have a LOT of depth OL was pretty good in Pass Pro and angled run blocking I LOVE how creative our offense is - and they don't have 20% of it in yet The Bad Not a fan of playing so much base personnel against 4-5 wide The outside four - OLB,OLB,CB,CB - don't have much depth OL was not so good at getting a push straight ahead Expected to see more quick passes to JD, Lindsey and Williams The Ugly Freshman QBs sometimes make really bad decisions Safeties REALLY need to play the ball if possible 1 Quote Link to comment

Seemed like he was always around the ball. I found it interesting the top 4 tacklers were the 4 linebackers. I don't know if it means anything with such a small sample size, but interesting. Moiraine
Our CBs know it’s legal to turn around and look for the ball. 1 Quote Link to comment

The DL - especially NT - are supposed to force the other team to double them so the LBs can run free. Looked good in game one. Quote Link to comment

Wouldn't mind seeing Deontai Williams play some more corner. That was one of the best plays on the ball I've seen from us in years. 1 Quote Link to comment
