BigRedBuster
We can argue all day about whatever plant was shut down. But, Presidents don’t micro management to the point of making decisions on shutting down this plant or that plant. Yhet would have happened no matter what president was in office. Yep, even Trump. Now, when it caused a problem, the administration pushed to get it back open and open up getting formula imported….which has been banned through multiple administrations. The administration has done what should have been done. 3 1 Link to comment

And that only happened after a whistleblower alerted the FDA that management was lying to them. And a surprise inspection showed the very bacteria that killed two babies, among other violations. It's all Right Here. Super easy to read, from reliable sources. There's no excuse for pretending President Joe Biden is at fault for the baby formula shortage. It's entirely the company's fault. 3 Link to comment

I hope he enjoys the midterms. “Here’s the situation. And when it comes to the gas prices, we’re going through an incredible transition that is taking place that, God willing, when it’s over, we’ll be stronger and the world will be stronger and less reliant on fossil fuels when this is over," Biden said https://www.newsweek.com/backlash-biden-says-high-gas-prices-are-part-incredible-transition-1709401 1 Link to comment

I can't read yours. You are right regarding Biden's role. But found this one without a paywall. https://apnews.com/article/science-health-government-and-politics- In mid-February, Abbott announced it was recalling various lots of three powdered infant formulas from the plant, after federal officials began investigating rare bacterial infections in four babies who were fed formula. Two of the infants died. But it’s not certain the bacteria came from the plant; strains found at the plant didn’t match the two available samples from the babies. 1 Link to comment

knapplc
So... this bacteria killed two babies. This bacteria was found in the Sturgis plant, which the FDA shut down. What does it matter if it's the same strain? This bacteria kills babies, and shouldn't be on the production floor. Shut the plant down, clean it, and get it back up and running. If the company had done their job this shutdown wouldn't have happened. 2 Link to comment

It’s kinda important to know where the babies got it from if you want to shut down so much production. 33 minutes ago, knapplc said: This bacteria kills babies, and shouldn't be on the production floor. It wasn’t according to the investigation notes 34 minutes ago, knapplc said: Shut the plant down, clean it, and get it back up and running. They did and the FDA/CDC drug their feet in allowing a reopening. 2 minutes ago, BigRedBuster said: So, they shouldn't have shut down a plant that had bacteria that can kill babies.
