Since the unquestioned leader of the Republican Party has gone full Qanon this is the place for this

Do the words CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER come to mind at all.   The sooner this guy gets behind bars for any one of the numerous scandals/crimes the better we will all be.  Take away his phone, computer and put him in solidary confinement - anything to take away his influence on the cult.

Imagine voting for Trump twice. Again, to anybody with eyes and ears none of this was surprising.  You people willfully voted for this because you didn't want "the libz" talking down to you telling you it was a moronic idea, which it was.

I wonder if all the "investigation" they're doing is anything like his election fraud goon squad.

If you want to know how well that went:

DeSantis election investigation chief told local officials they face 'no fault' for felons voting

Quote

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ office last week tried to blame local election supervisors for mistakes that could have allowed 20 people convicted of felonies to illegally vote. But the state’s election investigations chief previously absolved those local officials of any wrongdoing, according to state documents.

Pete Antonacci, who runs DeSantis’ elections investigation office, sent a letter on Aug. 18 to the state’s elections supervisors saying they did nothing wrong when individuals convicted of murder and sex offenses voted in the 2020 election cycle. Those defendants, who were ineligible to vote, were part of a press conference DeSantis used to highlight voter fraud.

“Through no fault of your own, records demonstrate that the convicted felons listed in the attached Exhibit A were registered to vote and voted in your county during the 2020 general election,” Antonacci wrote in the letter.

Antonacci sent the letters to local supervisors, asking them to preserve voting records of the defendants as part of his office’s ongoing investigation.

TL;DR: DeSantis is wasting state resources to chase a largely overhyped GOP boogeyman. They arrested 20 people for illegally voting after local officials helped them registered and confirmed to the individuals that they could in fact vote. So no one told them they were barred from voting; they were led to believe the opposite. Then goon squad busts them after the fact and King Goon widely publicizes for political points to make it seem like he's fighting a real problem.

As usual, a bunch of meaningless political posturing couched as law and order when really it's a statistically insignificant issue caused by incompetence rather than corruption.
