I've seen nothing but smoking guns for the last six years, but almost no GOP consequences. Filmed confessions are shrugged off in less than a news cycle. Prosecution teams resign in frustration. Republicans who would normally feel shame realize they don't have to. Again, Jan 6 was the ugliest and most visible, but Trump caught on phone leaning on state GOP officials to find him votes by any means necessary was unambigious insurrection. I think they see an ideological battle with the Left. In some cases it's sincere. But in most cases it's low-hanging fruit for political fundraising.
