** 2023 Opponent Preview : Colorado (Game 2) **

For as hard as CSU played all night, Norvell coached scared at the end of the game.

They needed to go for it on 4th and 2 at midfield with 2 mins left.  Get 2 yards (like you had been doing all night) and the game was over.

At the end of the 1st OT they should have went for 2.  You are going to have to go for 2 starting with the 2nd OT, so just go for 2 and the win right there.

Also that prevent D at the end of the 4th.  Woof.

Their lines are awful and Oregon is going to run roughshod on them. They can be at the center of the cfb universe for now but implosion is coming. What's crazy is if they didn't draw all the attention to themselves people would still be talking about their turnaround but wouldn't be waiting to see them get demolished. 6-6 is going to be a disappointment when it should be an accomplishment if they can even get to that. Their schedule is brutal.

Just because they’re getting attention worthy of a great team nobody is confused that they are flawed at almost every position group. People around here think wins and losses will define their season but this is one big “come to Colorado” advertisement. Prime even spoke about needing more talent all yesterday.

Isn't that what seasons are defines by? All of those "near wins" means nothing but a loss. Are you saying that Colorado's 3-0 start is not as good as the Huskers 1-2 start with its only win coming from a mid level Mac conference team? It is amazing how losing gets justified and it shows how your program has become used to close wins and less than mediocre performances. Is it jealousy that Prime is putting together something that Ruhl has not been able to? Once losing is OK and justified................

I mean one team is winning winnable games and one team losing them. At the end of the day neither program is going to be defined on year 1 but what they’re doing is keeping the interest high which will highlight them in a higher caliber recruit. I think 90 percent of people outside of their fan base see the schedule and flaws on the roster and see it’s about to get steep but that doesn’t change the fact they’re showing competence in winning situations

But I hear you and I think this fan base has gotten obsessed with weird narratives on failure and drinking the kool aid. Niu was a band aid a La tech isn’t any good so at least we have 2 weeks of decency upcoming. Rhule and co still need to figure a lot out.

Dude? CyHawk?

Don’t you have anything better to do with your time than troll another team’s board?

If you want to whine and moan about coaches and teams underperforming, you’ve got way more than enough material with your very own Hawkeyes and Cyclones. Why are you so preoccupied with Nebraska when your own teams suck so bad? It’s kinda pathetic.

Definitely agree with the OT take.   The punt in the fourth quarter actually worked out, yet for some reason they changed to prevent defense after vs  staying with what worked most of the game and they still gave up a 40 some yard TD pass.

Just think, people legitimately thought the ISU coach was someone we should have hired last year too:lol:  Super glad we dodged that bullet.  That coach looks like the product of one good QB/RB combo.

Too many are like that in college football. Recent notables include Jimbo, Ed Orgeron, Gene Chizik

Yes indeed we do have plenty of problems on this side of the Missouri river. Misery loves company so it is always interesting to see how others "spin" reality to make a chitty team better in their minds than reality. Remember, we lived through allot of years when Nebraska was good and your fans looked down on us, so it is a bit refreshing to see the Huskers be so bad. For some reason, they just cannot shake the loser mentality.

I understand that aspect of it and from that angle it is smart. My thing is it could backfire imo. They have swagger when they are winning and proving the haters wrong. But what happens when the haters are right? How will they respond to getting whipped? They may be able to respond to the adversity, we will see. But imo the us against the world approach is a recipe for implosion. That being said, what do I know. I'm a random husker fan who has disdain for the buffaloes

We still look down on you. Doesn’t matter how good or bad we may be, you’re still Iowa and always will be.

There are only two schools I know of that are proud to be able to spell a four letter word, and one of those is Iowa.

And very well could be seeing it right now with neon.

Your perspective is a 180 from mine. Deion Sanders is the biggest difference-maker to hit major college football in the past 50+ years. Watch his recruiting class next year - just watch - it will be ranked NUMBER ONE.

Deion is already being mentioned as Nick Saban's eventual replacement at Alabama. And why shouldn't he be? Deion attracts TOP coaches and TOP players -- he is a talent-magnet.
