  2. Eh ... everyone always likes to blame the refs. We gave up 58 points. We played exactly zero defense.

  3. Why do you love h the Hammies so much? I am sad you want them around. Don’t be sad for me… I want all those terrorists gone. do you also want serial killers to get a second chance? was Ted Bundy just misunderstood?

  4. Yes. It’s very clear they are. And, it’s why they absolutely can not be put back in power.

  5. Get rid of all the hammy terrorits. That is what I am advocating for. There is never going to be sustained peace there. and we can mock anyone we want. The pro pally dorks blocking traffic in the US are losers

  11. You argue the silliest points and just willingly sidestep anything that isn't explicitly spelled out for you. I get it, it makes your arguments easier. Here's the problem: whether you care to acknowledge it or not, a growing sentiment within the base of your party is that Russia isn't that bad. They're just taking back what's theirs. The other side are the aggressors. They're trying to uphold conservative christian values. Or any other number of ridiculous arguments I've heard that they're not really a threat and other entities are much more clear and present dangers to us as a nation. Peak ridiculousness i that notion that Russia is constrained under Trump/Republicans generally and only aggressive under Democrats because they're more afraid of the tougher Republicans. Hell, if I go up a few posts you're using a version of this argument. GOP electeds realize these dynamics and exploit them for their own benefit because their voters are stupid enough to believe this crap. They're not advancing Russian interests because they care about Russia. They just know their voters are utter rubes and they're happy to make them useful idiots if it keeps them in their cushy Washington gigs. It's bad for the world and it's damaging our democracy.

  13. Hard to win when it's 8 on 5 in the second half. Shannon should have fouled out with about 10 minutes to go. Ran over Lawrence right in front of the ref & no call. Grabbed Allick when he was trying to inbound the ball as he got up should have been fouls 3 & 5 ( they actually called on on him in between).

  14. Just to be clear…I also would have wanted all Nazis wiped out. I am sure there will be people crying about that for some reason. Good response. I would have gone with that too.

  19. Political superfans are just deeply, deeply weird people. It doesn't really matter what team, though Trumpers for sure seem more prone to it in today's political climate. There's a person who lives a couple blocks away from us who has no less than probably a half dozen (I'm guessing more, I haven't counted) Trump-themed flags draped all over their fence facing the street. Down that street is somebody else proudly rocking a "God, Guns and Trump" flag. Comparatively, I've got a Biden bumper sticker. I'll put up a yard sign of the candidates we're supporting in elections. But it's not some central part of my identity and I don't feel the need to buy a bunch of custom swag to show everyone how big a fan I am. What the hell happens to people they get this f#&%ing weird?

  20. His flirting with commissioner job shows me that at best the Nebraska AD job was just a stepping stone for him and he was never long for this job. Even if everything was roses, he wasn't staying here 10+ years if other opportunities presented themselves.

  21. If we're being totally honest.....these and other protests may well be affecting the Presidential election. I take that bridge all the time and would be really pissed if I was on my way to the airport. People in Marin County hate to be inconvenienced, and these things make us suffer just like the Palestinians.

  22. To what? Someone’s fantasy about Russia controlling a United States political party? LOL. All because some of them question the continued tens of billions of dollars being spent in Ukraine? It’s like bizarro world sometimes. Obama in charge and Russia makes advancement into Crimea. Trump in charge and Russia doesn’t make advancement. Trump gives Ukraine lethal weapons that Obama wouldn’t. Biden gets to be in charge and what do you know. Russia advances, AGAIN. But ya, OMG OMG Trump Russia Republicans Russia .

  26. Man, I get tired of this stupid argument. A men’s sport had to go for Title IX. It wasn’t Trev’s decision and he called Denny before it hit the papers the NEXT F&(@ing MORNING. The UNO Wrestling thing is tired and worn out and quite frankly nobody really cares. People that understand things have understood the decision for a long time. Look at UNO now. It was absolutely the correct decision.

  28. Agreed! Everyone (I think) is pro-innoent civilians (except for nazis)...but...I feel like we have some "GIVE MONEY TO UKRAINE!!" folks, which we should and I hope we kill all the commies... But they also want to be "Wait, hammies are just misunderstood" NO INNOCENT CIVILIAN should get hurt...ever. It sucks that it happens. It was right next to Herbie Hancocks signature.

  30. I think the imbalance in how the game was called on both ends (not saying we didn't foul, but 9-3 foul differential with 12 minutes to go) affected how the defense played as they couldn't breath on Shannon driving without a foul being called. Then when one of our guys would drive and get similar contact, nothing. But, we also have to make shots and get the ball in the basket.

  31. I'll take the blame for the loss. When we were up 15 and Illinois called the TO, while standing and cheering I thought to myself "I am going to get to watch Nebrasketball play for a conference tourney championship tomorrow. In person! How unbelievable is that?". And that is when the game turned. But on the plus side I saved a couple hundred $$$ and don't have to be around a bunch of Wisconsin fans tomorrow. So that's a small win.

  33. Too much one-on-one action and not enough running the offense. Also getting overpowered on the defensive end, Illinois playing bully ball definitely plays into their strengths.

  34. I don’t think anyone was advocating for lowering their rates further. People keep forgetting what prompted my entire reason for taking about any of this. One poster said the entire spending/revenue gap was because we weren’t collecting enough in taxes and the rich needed to pay more, not the US spend less. On you last paragraph, I’ve asked this to someone else before and really got no answer. Considering the wealth gap increase has been a function of stock market equity increase, how would you propose closing the wealth gap? You could certainly tax 100% of income after a certain point ($100 million for example) and all you would do to close that gap is being one side down, not the other side up. I wouldn’t think that is what people are looking for when talking about closing the wealth gap.

  35. I think everyone of all political stripes can pretty roundly agree Don Lemon sucks. This just seems like a story of two uber douches trying to out-douche each other, right?

  36. Isn't arguing the rich already pay enough in income taxes kind of a red herring? Don't the ultra wealthy realize the vast majority of their wealth gains through sources that aren't taxable as income anyway?

  38. You truly believe, like in all honesty, like just you and me talking here and you don’t have to worry about getting any +1’s or oh yeahs from the usual folks believe the Republican Party is trying to advance Russian priorities at the expense of US priorities? That they want more than anything here, for Russia to be a better country than the US? That when choosing what’s better for the US or Russia, they would choose Russia? Like you honestly believe that? Amazing.

  42. Yeah, but when people complain about Russia interfering with our elections, they're merely hypocrites. When people claim Russia isn't interfering with our elections, they're naive or willfully dishonest. One party doesn't want to consider Putin's motives at all. It's leading candidate disagrees with you. I also think social media has changed the equation a bit: it was sobering for Americans to consider the sheer number of posts and accusations we consumed that were churned out by Russian bots America's most famous interventions in other countries' elections tended to be bipartisan and well-hidden from the American public. A public that didn't much know or care either way.

  43. I woke this morning after watching a Friday to remember in Nebraska Athletics. My very first thought as I opened my eyes was "Can we, Husker Nation, finally just move on from the best last Era of Husker Greatness and into a NEW era of Husker Greatness"? The old regime/guard is out finally. Trev was the last of the old guard. The new guard is/has righted the ship and frankly, I think Trev leaving is probably going to turn out to be a good thing. The Solich issue was mended and put to rest by the last of the "old guard" as it should have been. Trev did an admirable job of correcting the wrongs, bringing unity back, putting the department into a new era and then left. So, instead of constantly whining about it, let's actually lay it to rest and move forward with the new group of coaches and allow them to create their own dynasty along with the players they bring in. There's few of the old guard left. The volleyball team did it when Terry hired John and that's proven to be hugely successful. Time now for Matt, for Fred, Amy and the rest. Time for the fanbase (myself included) to sit back and enjoy the ride.

  44. Not necessarily. At Nebraska, it was his responsibility to see it handled correctly. But he's not the one who directly did anything wrong, just didn't handle the aftermath correctly. People get second chances for that all the time.
