At first blush it looks nice, but not a fan of change. It might grow on me once I get used to it.

As change goes, I don't think this will be too bad. The first ten minutes were a nightmare but already getting used to it.  Took me quite awhile to figure how to even post a status. And I finally had to use my new user name to login. At least that makes sense. I'm not sure why I was having to login as JJHusker after the change to El D.

  2. So is it worth the time and effort to drive 2.5 hours north to get in the path of totality or should I settle for 95% eclipse here in Greeley?

We cancelled school that day so shift liability of injury back on the parents. North Platte is taking all the kids to the football field to watch. I worry that kids will not listen to directions and will take off the glasses and burn their eyeballs!

It's absolutely worth it if you like that kind of stuff. It's literally a once in a lifetime, very magnificent experience. There's videos on youtube of crowds reacting to full solar eclipses and they're just incredible.

      JJ Husker

Coach- Who's going to keep them from staring at the sun all the other days of the year? I heard about schools cancelling for liability on the radio....IMO, pretty stupid. Although I don't mind if it's because they realize the day will essentially be wasted.

The basement isn't finished so no drywall hiding things. And my furnace is not near an exterior wall. I got fooled by the coincidence of the heavy rain. Just bad timing for the condensate to quit draining properly.

      JJ Husker

Yeah, I just had to buy a few pvc pipe fittings and the most expensive thing was that it ruined two of those high dollar ultra allergen air filters. Oh well, it could've been much worse.

  5. Sonofa.....boy did it just rain hard. Wife says we have water in the basement around the furnace (not from a window well) and I've never had that happen before. Either I have a new roof leak or more likely it came down the furnace flue. Sure am excited to see what awaits at home:-(

But honestly, I don't think it's ever rained quite this hard here in about the last 30 years. It was pretty impressive.

    4. TonyStalloni

      TonyStalloni

Several thoughts. Is the basement wall in the furnace room finished with drywall? If not is the wall wet anywhere? Could you have a crack in the wall and a low spot outside? I have seen when there is a low spot next to a foundation and rain is wind driven against the house that all that water runs straight down the house and puddles in the low spot. If you have had very dry conditions, it's possible the ground has pulled away from the house slightly giving that rain water a tunnel to...

Yeah, cream cheese goes well on many pizzas but particularly good with pepperoni. Also love jalapeños and cc together. I think it goes well with Hawaiian/pineapple also but I'm not a fan of pineapple on pizza. The cashews are surprisingly good with pepperoni and cc.

It doesn't help that I'm doing it in 90+ heat but I was expecting about 2 weekends work. I've got 3.5 days in and am about 1/3 done. It looks marvelous though. The powerwashing alone makes it look like practically new wood.

Did get a bit black in spots on the exterior. It flared up as soon as I went to the hot side and basically stayed that way. That's the difficult thing with fatty cuts like ribeye and basting it with clarified butter didn't help. Still looked good and tasted awesome. I like how it was done the same wall to wall.

Nice! I took my time and did a New York strip from Costco with the reverse sear last week. I just used a spicy Montreal seasoning, so no flare ups. Same story, gf likes it medium well, I prefer anything below medium. Anyways, I got just above mid well, but an excellent crunchy deep brown crust to it!

    3. 4skers89

      4skers89

Sounds like they would like her to apply. They probably have someone that makes calls to potential students that send in SAT scores that are high enough but not all applicants. Smart move by UNL.

    4. ColoradoHusk

      ColoradoHusk

Congrats to your daughter that UNL is interested!!! I think they are really trying to push for out of state students to increase enrollment to catch up to the rest of the Big Ten. I think UNL ranks 13th out of 14 in terms of undergraduate student population.
