Dr. Strangelove
In all honesty, Texas A&M is a worse job than Nebraska. They have no historical success and the boosters - who run the Athletic Department - expect Alabama success. Trev is valuable to Nebraska but it's also not a major loss. It'll be interesting on if the pending financial disaster that is the stadium remodel continues to move forward or not. 1 Quote Link to comment

As we saw over the past 20+ years, getting the AD position right is vital to success. As for A&M being a worse job than Nebraska? Maybe, but it's a totally different dynamic and a whole lot more money. 1 Quote Link to comment

We have firsthand experience with what terrible ADs can do to athletic programs. Trev finally has had everyone rowing in the right direction. As far as replacements, we have no one person in place to hire the new AD. No one is going to want to come here without knowing who their boss is. 1 2 3 Quote Link to comment
Red Five
This is all a power play by Matt Davison to be named the next AD, isn't it? 3 Quote Link to comment

Cdog923
In any case of a vacancy, be on the lookout for Dr. Susan Elza's name as a potential replacement. https://huskers.com/staff/dr-susan-elza 1 Quote Link to comment

teachercd
Rumor is he was going to retire to South Carolina, to be closer to his daughters (I know someone who taught them) So maybe this deal came along and it was just so much cash he had to take it. 3 Quote Link to comment
